THIS is THE restaurant to enjoy the finest dining of Palestine, Texas! (Actually, perhaps the best in East Texas!) Built 1914 for railroad visitors, the Redlands Hotel has been modernized without losing its soul! It is slightly upscale and don't let the surrounding area cast any doubts on the fabulous food and service you will enjoy!!Our welcome was gracious in a very friendly East Texas way. It felt genuine and with heart!(Tip: ask for Ariel. Absolutely one of the best servers I've experienced in months! She is attentive without being in your way, outgoing, full of energy and smiles plus builds a rapport that few but the skilled at elite fine dining establishments can do. Seriously!)The menu is full of options and while we were seeking to stay on our diet, we were able to have decadent flavors while eating healthy. The Queen Dinner Salad up front set the stage for the super dining experience! With a quality spring mix, it was put over the top with sweet pecans, strawberries, feta cheese and to die for pear vinaigrette! The pecan encrusted salmon I had was the best fish dish I've had in years! (I eat a LOT of fish!)Ariel was close to winning me over to a serving of pecan cobbler, but I knew that would bust my diet as well as belt. (But, oh, was I tempted!)Price was really reasonable for the quality, taste, appearance and elite service! Make sure you ask for Ariel!
It's such a pleasure to give this local restaurant a great review. We were passing through town but discovered the Queen St. Grille online and reserved a table for dinner. The restaurant is set in an old, historic hotel, and the vibe is semi-formal. It's nicely appointed and on the verge of being elegant, although the Friday night dress code was more business casual then formal. The highlight of our visit was the food! We each ordered a different dish, and nine was disappointed. We enjoyed herb-crusted pork loin, chicken marsala, pecan-crusted salmon with pineapple cream sauce, and olive oil-bronzed redfish. Our wine was a California Troublemaker red blend that was known and loved by us.In addition to each dish being creatively and perfectly prepared, the price for our incredible dinner was easily 50% less than it would have been in the city. What a great find. And, although I didn't mention this before, the service was also top notch. Try this place if you're in or around Palestine. You will not regret it!
Had dinner there last night, sat in the bar area. Great atmosphere, wonderful patrons. The staff was very engaging. Got to meet the owners.. great conversations there. And the food was wonderful. Grilled salmon to perfection!
This is a perfect restaurant! The food was fabulous. The service was impeccable. The atmosphere was quiet and peaceful. And it’s beautifully decorated! The history of the restaurant and hotel is fascinating. The owners are very nice and personable.
Great food, drinks, and service. Who would have thought five-star dining in Palestine?Definitely will be back.
While in Palestine, on a weekend trip, we dined at Queen Street Grille on a Saturday night. It is housed in the historic Redlands Hotel. The hostess, Maria, made us feel right at home. She was charming. At our request, Maria made several recommendations from the menu. We ordered the cold salmon appetizer. It came with bread, capers, red onion, and sour cream. Outstanding! My husband tried the seared duck and I ordered the redfish with a wonderful glaze. Both plates were accompanied with asparagus. My fish came with risotto and my husband's with mashed potatoes. He was very pleased with the duck and I was delighted with the redfish. Both were excellent choices. The margarita I had was just right. Maria told me Jose made it. My compliments to Jose! We topped off our dinner with blueberry bread pudding with amaretto sauce. It was light and flavorful. The room in which we dined was lovely. The tall windows and transoms throughout the restaurant gave a dramatic and historic feel to the dining room. We look forward to returning at our next opportunity. The wonderful food, charming hostess, and beautiful setting made for a memorable dining experience. We highly recommend dining at Queen Street Grille.
A gem that is worth checking out. my son had the Royal Burger and it was fit for King. I had the Cajun pasta with chicken. Dessert was amazing with Creme Brule and the Pecan cobbler is to die for!! Yummy. A must to try.
Very reasonable, great portions. You will spend around $85 or more for two people that's including alcoholic drink, two non-alcoholic drinks like teas ex, advertiser, two main entrees and a dessert. The building is a must see on top with all of that. Never know that the building was called Redlands hotel. It's very relaxing environment. They will need reservations in advance
Excellent venue downtown. Quaint crowd, full menu, elegant dining.
Had lunch today with a group of friends and had a wonderful experience. The Staff and owners are wonderful. The food was great and the $$ was so reasonable. Will definitely make this a weekly hangout.
