I previously left a 5 star review that I've removed. What led me to remove that review is that the past few times my mother and I have stopped to eat the food has been terrible, sometimes almost inedible, but the last straw was on April 3rd. My mother and I walked in and the lady at the counter told us to sit wherever we liked and motioned to the area towards the store. The front booth closest to the door and the back booth closest to the store were open. We chose the back booth. The lady brought menus and said our waitress would be with us shortly. Meanwhile a lady with a couple children came in and sat in the front booth. We had been there about 15 minutes at that point. The waitress proceeded to get their drinks and then came back to take their order. My mother finally managed to get her attention and she told us that she was the only waitress and she would be back to get our order. We told her that we had been sitting there for a while and had come in before the lady in the front booth. Her response was to say that, like she said, she was the only waitress. She then went to the back around a corner and had a conversation with another employee and then came back out and proceeded to refill people's coffee and other drinks. We finally got up and walked out after we had sat there for about 30 minutes. We were never even served drinks. Our business was obviously not needed. We have been very reluctant since then to eat there. The food and service have gotten pretty bad from 8 months ago.
We were greated at the door and seated. Waitress was polite and took good care of us. Breakfast was delicious and prepared to our order. Check out was very cordial and friendly. This was a nice experience. It seems many places of business have thrown customer service out the window, but not here. Good job Dennys in Palestine ! Good job!
We ate at the Palestine, TX restaurant tonight. Jimmy was our waiter. He did a great job. The cook was definitely on point, too. Other servers seemed to be attentive to their tables. We hadn’t been in a long time b/c the service had been so bad before. Not sure if there is a new manager; there definitely has been a change for the better.
20 min after being seated just to get a menu and a drink 35 min later my food arrives it was hot and edible but the presentation was terrible greasy plate. Waitress never came back to check on the food 15 min later finally got a refill asked she never brought the check then waited at register 5 min. Before walking in the back asking to see if someone could ring us up there was an elderly couple waiting and had trouble standing . It was not busy it was a Monday evening
Send it to me so many times but mostly for breakfast. However this time I ordered the chicken fried chicken and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. Larger portion than I could eat but it was absolutely delicious
Just stood there for 10 minutes and nobody sat or acknowledged me. There was only a pair of customers seated not like they were swamped. Wish Pilot would dump this restaurant chain.
Service very good. Overall quality of food was a big disappointment. Table of four. Three had breakfast plates . Sausage undercooked, crêpes poorly cooked. One had burger and onion rings. Burger was unappealing from the start. Patty looked like some shoe sole that had been burnt and onion rings (all 5 of them) should have stayed buried in the ground. Hadn't been out to a Denny's in along time and it will be a much longer time before $57.00 will be spent on what was received..
Tonight’s service and experience was exceptional. Since the restaurant opened a few years ago , I’ve always regretted going once I left due to either bad service or a bad cook. I always have another chance! I am glad I did. From start to finish was the best I’ve ever experienced at a Dennys restaurant. The server was great. She was courteous and helpful. Even chimed in with the people at the table with us who poured on the jokes all evening. Definitely will not hesitate to go back the next time, simply because of tonight’s service.
My little family and I like to stop in early mornings that we are going grocery shopping, so as not to shop hungry. The food is never disappointing. The wait-staff is always kind and courteous, my little 2 yr old grandbaby speaks sign and the waitresses dote on him. He is a pancake hound! My elderly brother requests to eat here for his birthday ?. He loves the biscuits and gravy.
When I go out for breakfast Denny's is where I go. There is only one other restaurant here, that I am aware of, it's usually crowded and there is a wait time. I don't particularly care for the coffee at Denny's but I drink it with a lot of creamer. The breakfast is usually very good and cooked the way I ask. The last time I went I assume it was a new waiter. I had taken my grandson and he ordered a grand slam with pancakes with sausage and bacon. I told the waiter I'd have the same but all bacon and wheat toast instead of pancakes. When our food was brought out I received pancakes and toast and no eggs. I informed the waiter I had asked for eggs. He looked confused and said ok. My grandson had finished his breakfast before my eggs were brought to the table. I did leave a tip, just the bare minimum 15%. On top of the food mixup I never got a coffee refill even though I had placed the cup on the outside edge of the table. I'll go back because this wasn't the usual service and hopefully the young man has gotten better.
