The little Ice house behind restaurant has nice pool tables and cheap drinks. Only ate once and was not impressed. Food took forever and they even forgot my Sons steak. Could have been the hottest place in town. Small town people only give you one chance to impress. Very nice Owner. Just needs a different approach for the opportunity to stand out. Excellent location for a great establishment. Lots of missed opportunities from unused space in back. Don't see it open much longer.
This is a surprise gem of a restaurant!!! Traveling through on our way back home, we stopped here for a Sunday brunch. Starting with our server, Bree, we knew this was a great choice. The service she provided was outstanding. The brunch buffett looked amazing, and it didn't disappoint. Scott, the chef, was really friendly. He explained the buffet offerings and cooked our omelets perfectly. He even offered to keep the buffet open for us if we were going to go back for more. From the outside you won't know how great this place is, but don't let that stop you. Go on inside, and have a really great meal!
The best food and drinks, served and cooked by the best people. Fantastic entrees, amazing deserts and awesome cocktails. It’s my local for a reason.
Family of four visiting for the first time. The waitress was great and very helpful. The food however was a huge disappointment. Steaks not cooked to order plus cold once they hit the table which was odd since we were the only ones in the restaurant at the time so there was no reason for it. The “glaze” tasted like watered down brown gravy, (y’all should probably quit doing that). Just an overall disappointment minus the waitress.
We have been there several times and been pleased with the staff and the food but today was different, the food was mediocre at best the staff sluggish and unfortunately not up to the normal way we have been treated. My daughter said you just can’t put enough lipstick on the pig it’s still a go cart and game room. Sorry you need to step back up to the standards you started with. I would rather eat at the sale bar. We went in after the rush.
We had the chicken fried ribeye, my Husband's was thick and tender but mine was thin and crispy, not very good I'd say. The green beans were awful, still don't know what kind of seasoning was on them. The garlic mashed potatoes were good though. Our waiter was awesome and had a voice that I think he should've been doing radio talk instead. Overall I don't think I'll be returning.
Wait staff was amazing at their jobs, however the portion for the wings was way too much and the steak was undercooked and under seasoned. When the steak came back it just tasted like straight char. Side dishes were good.
The waitress was outstanding, top notch along with the rest of the staff I came into contact with on my visit. Wish I could remember her name so could thank her for taking care of my wife and I along with our grandsons. The food was the issue! We all ordered the 1855 steak being our first time here, figured we couldn't go wrong with a steak that has thier name one it. The steak was tough as boot leather and had big chunks of fat on it. A VERY thin,Grisly and fatty cut of tasteless meat. They shouldn't call that steak, sorry. The vegetables were under cooked with no seasoning to really mention. The rolls probably came from a freezer. The Mac and cheese was loved by the grandson, said it was great. I was really let down by this place. Next time I will definitely go on into Tyler for a nice steak diner. Really thought Palestine finally had a good steakhouse til we tried them. Spent $180 bucks here and would have had a better meal at McDonald's.
I stayed close and ate here on a Monday. I’ll say I’d go back but here’s what I had and the pros and cons.I had the fried fish and shrimp meal:Pros:Shrimp were big and fresh, very hot!Coleslaw was good.Hush puppies were very good.Fish was hotThe zucchini and squash were goodStaff was friendly and accommodating.Cons:Fries were cold, tasted fresh made but coldI asked what kind of fish was in this meal and was told red fish. It’s not, it’s catfish so threw me for a surprise.Place was very open and bright. Felt like I was sitting out on a stage. It was not busy so that might make it seem so even more.Overall very good and I’d go back. Prices seemed a little high but online with quality.
I ordered the 8 oz Filet cooked medium rare+ and they brought me a steak that closely resembled a Flat Iron cooked medium-well. We ordered a Creme Brule that looked delicious but it was lacking in taste and consistency of the Creme!!! I wouldn't recommend this place! The one star is only for the sweet tea!
