Went on a noon rush, lots of people but no waiting and fast and friendly service!
One of the more authentic Mexican restaurants I have been to. Right down to the broken plates, old silverware, and bright colors everywhere.The salsa was great; it had a good amount of heat to it but not too much. Our dinner was more flavorful than a few places we have been in the area.The two biggest complaints were that our menus had remnants of the prior guests' meals(I told you it was authentic), and for the amount of queso we received, I felt as if the churi queso was overpriced at $10.All that being said, I will eat here again.
This is a local favorite. The staff and people are excellent. The food is just not my favorite but still tasty. Try it for yourself and see if you like.
The food is great there only thing was now it's just a small piece of meat and a small piece of fish I might stop going there if that keeps up
The Caldo is the best in town and my favorite thing on a cold day. I also love their red enchilada sauce, it’s nice and spicy. Their queso is home made with white cheese, nothing out of a can at this place. As good as the food is, the service with a smile is always top notch!
I have been to every county in Texas, and this is one of the three best restaurants in the state. I haven't had the privilege to return since 2004, but I have such fond memories of the place. The chicken fajitas are to die for! No kidding! And the chips and salsa are totally awesome. But sometimes, Mary Salazar puts a lot of peppers in it. If you eat too much of her chips & salsa, your tongue will burn so badly that you won't be able to taste the fajitas. There were a few times that the salsa was so hot, I could feel it coming out of the other end the next day! But I never learned my lesson. It tasted so good, I kept on eating it, anyway! And the atmosphere of the place is so relaxing. Mary does an outstanding job. I definitely recommend it.
The food prices were very high. The food was normal flavored. We paid $8.99 for dry nachos with a little bit of shredded cheese not even melted. It was so disappointing. We asked for complementary salsa and chips and they wanted to change us $3.99. This restaurant has EXTREMELY HIGH PRICES!!
The shrimp plate with veggies are fire and taste delicious. The asafoetida is also the bomb. Love it chips and salsa can you say wow lol. Loved eating from there.
Sometimes you got to get out and try something new. Food, atmosphere, and employees are super friendly and awesome.
