If you get treated horribly by the owner and staff here, like we did, just head north a little bit. We’d love to have you in Keller. J.R’s BBQ is much better food and will treat you like GOLD!!
This is an old building that was a feed store, so it is pretty rustic inside, but very clean. The serving line was staffed with 3 guys that were very friendly and attentive to what you wanted. My wife and I had the sliced brisket sandwich, he got a fresh one for our sandwiches. We also got sides, coleslaw potato salad and fried okra. Okra was hot as cooked to order. Coleslaw was perfect and potato salad was chunky. Brisket was plastic fork cutting tender. Sauce on side. One team member came by our table twice to make sure all was good. Great patio for outdoor eating. Restrooms were clean. The high point was the friendliness of team members. We enjoyed and recommend you go.
We went here for lunch on the recommendation of family while we were out visiting. This smokehouse is easily the best example of Texan BBQ we have ever had!We got the Brisket Grilled Cheese and the Burger with Ranch Beans, Jalapeño Mac & Cheese, and Mashed Potatoes. The meat was as tender as could be and the sauces were incredibly delicious (we definitely recommend the spicy BBQ sauce over the regular). The service was also spectacular. The chef came to our table and asked how we liked the food, and shared some insight into how the food was prepared as well as some of his inspirations. We felt very valued as guests and loved our experience.Food, service, and Texan atmosphere make this place top-tier for your BBQ fix!
By far some of the best barbecue in the Metroplex (beef, ribs and sauce). It's worth the drive for the food but not the atmosphere. All seating is hard wood (no cushions) and their paper napkins are self serve and very small and thin. Crazy for a bbq joint that is finger lickin' good, but I don't want to lick my fingers in public! Need heavy duty paper towels on the table. If I lived closer I'd do take out but it would be cold and soggy by the time I picked up and drove home. Staff is friendly.
Ordered the 3 meat got 2 of my meats the ribs and the other pulled pork. I liked it and the gentleman who was cashier was really funny and cordial. Only 4 stars because it really was a smoke flavor and not to much of any other flavor until you put the BBQ sauce on it. The smoky baked beans were a little over smoked. Otherwise a good place to eat.
Great food, friendly staff, if their ribs were on a plate on top of my head and my hands tied behind my back, my tongue would beat my brains out trying to get to it!?
Excellent BBQ! And the staff were so nice. We will definitely go back!!!
absolutely delicious food!! great service! friendly staff!! reasonable price !
Loved the brisket. Like best I've ever had. Couple of things….. liked the personal bottles of warm BBQ sauce. The mashed potatoes are nice and rustic and the portions are perfect for the price. My family of 5 all made the same comment "I'm stuffed." If they keep the same recipes, same portion size, don't alter the prices, and stay true to the Texas atmosphere; this place will be here to stay! I'm gonna be a loyal customer for years to come.
Food was really great. Drove from Grand Prairie to eat here for the first time, and we all enjoyed the food.
