I haven’t been to Babes in years and listen they did not disappoint. The service was impeccable. Our waiter continued to check on us and ensure we were okay with refilling our water and bringing us anything requested. The fried chicken was fried crispy and was delicious. The green beans, corn, mashed potatoes, rolls all served family style. They even offer Salad and biscuits and delicious desserts for an additional cost. I forgot how much I love babes but will be back sooner than later. The person who started the book is also an author, so check out their book.
I had some high hopes for this place. In all the service was not that great from the moment I walked in the door. Food was good. But the biggest disappointment was all the waste of the food. I was only able to take my chicken fried steak and nothing else. To me that's a wast of food. My hopes for this place went down in flame's. I will not be back. Don't like to wast food and the service was lacking.
Went here on fathers day with my big family. They told us it would be a 50-55 minute wait but it wasn’t that long. Even though they were very busy they got us in quick. They will not sit you without your whole party there. Food was delicious and service was amazing. We tried all of their meat options and all were delicious! It’s also BYOB so don’t forget your cold beer! Will definitely go back!
First time here. I Had never heard of this place before. It's like a buffet but at your table. You are served a salad with biscuits. I'm not a fan of the salad because of the sweet vinaigrette dressing but those biscuits will make you stuff yourself silly!! There were 3 of us and we each got something different so we could try a bit of everything. The green beans leave something to be desired but the mash potatoes, corn, and gravy were really good.
The hype was not hype, it was the TRUTH! Our pastor in Houston recommended Babe's Chicken if we are ever in the Dallas area. He was not wrong, wow! The menu is unique in that you do not get to choose your sides. They all come family style in bowls for all the share. You get mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, kentury wonders green beans. We opted to share a half of fried chicken for the meat. I got the breast and thigh and the wife got the wing and leg. Oh, and the meal comes with a iceberg salad each and 2 buttermilk biscuits.I can truly say each and every part of the meal was fantastic! My wife is a good cook, so I am spoiled. This was great and will definitely visit again!
Went there for my Dads 89th Birthday Party. There was around 30 people there. Babes was totally awesome. The food was wonderful. That was the 1st time I had been there. I definitely recommend this place to eat especially if you have a big party like we had. They do come back and keep checking up on you to see if you need anything else drink or food wise. That is great. ?

The place is "colorful" and relaxed, but the staff is equally relaxed about actually doing their job. Requests for a couple of extra biscuits took two attempts and 10 minutes. The servers were disinterested and inattentive. No menus are provided. Special note should be made of their "doggie bag" policy. Since they offer "unlimited" sides, they won't give you a box to take anything to go. We had to leave early, with chicken-fried steak and chicken tenders still uneaten, plus NO additional sides (except two biscuits) requested. The server offered a plastic bag...and stated no boxes weree available...which is false, as they do a booming to-go business too. They then said no doggie bags were allowed because of the unlimited sides. After talking to a manager, he offered a "small" box to take the remaining chicken-fried steak and tenders in, but adivsed their policy is no doggie bags. Now, if we had alread had extra sides, etc, this policy has a small modicum of sense, although they stated that anything we left on the table would be discarded anyway, to discourage freeloaders. However, to exercise this kind of answer to a group that hasn't asked for additional servings seems churlish, if not down right rude. We will never patronize this establishment, or its companion business (Sweetie Pies Ribeyes) again.
It was a good atmosphere. Well pleased. Good service and cleanliness. I was very pleased by the service and hospitality.
