Their Chef moved back to Germany. So they only do bakery sweets and some salad and plain sandwiches. Nothing different than your local Pandera.

Absolutely delicious pastry! I can't speak for the German authenticity as I have never been to Germany, but this bakery will definitely knock your socks off when it comes to flavor. Loved the cheese Danish, peach streusel, bear claw, and everything else we tried. Hot tip- get them to go and eat in Landa Park for breakfast. This will be a regular stop for my family's future New Braunfels visits.

About a year ago, I would give Uwes 4 stars -- great cheese Danish, apple strudel, and a marble loaf, out of this world. Now, staffing is very hit and miss. There are times I've gone in and there is one person working the counter and tables. Also because of staffing - at least that's what I'm told - there are times I go in and the cake section is empty or some favorites are not there for weeks bc there is no baker? Also, I'm making a more conscious decision of where I spend my dollars and any employer who is proud to put on his website that all staff are jabbed AND masked doesn't get my hard earned $Naegelins has become a new favorite...Update in response to owner comment: Yes, staffing issues especially when it impacts service and product availability AND Yes, "politics" as you refer to it. I simply consider it divergent value system.

We stopped in for breakfast but no breakfast since Covid so we dined on multiple baked goods. Sausage kolache, blueberry muffin, cherry streusel, cherry turnover and cinnamon roll. All were absolutely amazing! Coffee was also good! We will be back. In fact we may sit here long enough to eat lunch!

I come almost once a week and the employees are always so nice and the food is amazing.

I go to Uwe's every time I am in NB! I first went in about 2018 and had a sandwich I still crave to this day. While I still love their food and baked goods, I miss the layout the bakery used to have. As someone who was not previously a fan of pretzels, their delicious pretzels made me love them. I love Uwe's, it makes me so happy to go in and see all of the baked goods. Their german chocolate cake is to die for.

If I had to pick something I didn't like about this place I'd be sitting here like the thinker until the end of time. I had the german meatloaf and my wife had the deli club sandwich both with the loaded baked potato salad and everything was scrumdiddlyumptious. My favorite thing by far was the carrot ginger soup, THE BEST soup I've had in 30 years of life. Wonderful music playing lightly in the background and a wide selection of pretzels, bread, and pastries. Their lemonades were a refreshing addition to the meal. Wear a hat because this place is mind blowing

My friend and I get together for breakfast on a frequent but irregular basis. With Omicron now making the rounds we drove past our regular first choice as its parking lot was quite full. Uwe's, on the other hand, had few people dining in. Although they don't serve meals, we did assemble a semblance of breakfast with sausage kolaches and sweet rolls, plus coffee. And since there was no crush of people, we could enjoy conversation without feeling pressed to leave quickly. Uwe's had signs posted warning they were short handed and requesting courtesy for the staff, which we were happy to provide. The food was excellent, the staff happy to see us, and all in all it was a quality experience.

My wife and I came pretty late in the day and they still had about half the counter full of baked goods. They told us early in the morning that it's completely full so we're definitely planning on coming back then. We got a couple items to try and I loved everything. My wife fell in love with their campfire cold brew.

Some of the best sandwiches I’ve ever had and what do I say about the coffee it’s over the top specially the iced coffee
