We visited this popular eatery during prime breakfast hours and expected a reasonable wait that was fairly short. Once seated our server Jo promptly brought us our drinks and took our orders - all of which were delivered to our table hot and with ample portions. All items were absolutely delicious. The interior decor was intricately decorated with authentic railroad-related memorabilia. Tasty meals will entice us back soon.
This place had such a fun cute home town feel to it. We went for breakfast and so many of the other customers were obviously regulars. Our waitress immediately made us feel welcomed and was so kind and friendly. Our food was the most classic and tastiest diner style you could hope for. I got the hungry Texan because I wanted to try some of everything but I didn't even eat half my plate there was so much. But everything was absolutely delicious. I subbed out my pancakes for the French toast and it was so worth it. The biscuit was so fluffy and buttery. My coffee was also so good and out waitress did such a good job of keeping it filled! Definitely worth the wait cuz when summer is in full swing, there will be a wait.
It's a nice, locally owned place but the overall quality isn't anything special. Tastes and looks like generic store bought food. If you're nearby and don't want to cook for yourself then it's a decent option. In future I'll stick with a couple other local favorites that are always great. I think it could be a 4 star sometimes like when they aren't super busy because it's a fun little dining room and friendly staff.Details: The omelettes were flat and not fluffy at all. The pancakes tasted somewhat stale like they weren't made fresh. They just didn't have what you would expect from a nice cafe considering what you're paying for them. The biscuit tasted very generic. Overall it wasn't terrible but didn't taste anything like what you'd expect from a nice local cafe or diner.
Ate lunch here for the first time. The broccoli ? cheddar soup is the best I've tasted from a restaurant. Had my go to meal from a new restaurant of "meat loaf" it was nothing to write home about. Too bland not enough flavor reminded me of a 70's TV dinner.Wait staff was excellent ?. Will come back for their breakfast.
We chose this place because it was rated #1 for breakfast. Not only was it dirty, the food was barely edible. Neither of us finished our food. There are better options in the area.
Phenomenal breakfast and service. Kriss was my waitress, and she was upbeat and attentive the entire time. The food could’ve been awful (it wasn’t), but I wouldn’t of said a word because of her great attitude. I’m coming back to float the river with my family this summer, and this will be our number one breakfast spot for sure!
Wonderful server was polite and friendly. Everything was cooked to our liking and tasted great. Small restaurant can get a little noisy and crowded, but the atmosphere is definitely cozy and welcoming. They have a great variety of breakfast items including an entire menu for omelettes! Some omelette options are a little more on the wild side if you’re feeling adventurous, but regardless they will make your omelette as tame or wild as you like. I can recommend their corned beef hash and their coffee as well. The service can be slow here, but if you’re patient enough you’ll be well fed.
Our wait wasn't too bad, but I can imagine it can get so on busy days. I applaud this diner for having well varied menu options that aren't shy on flavor or creativity. The service was excellent, portion sizes on point, and the prices well within reason. And, they have good coffee! We will be back.
This little family owned diner offers impeccable, friendly service and huge portions of food.We only waited a short while and quickly discovered that it was well worth it. Our waitress was really sweet, helpful and prompt. The food was delicious. I ordered two eggs over easy with chicken fried steak with home fries and a biscuit. The eggs were cooked perfectly, the chicken fried steak was tender and fried just right. The home fries were crispy and the biscuit was definitely homemade. If you're ever in the area, give this greasy spoon a try!
First time here and found the atmosphere to be quaint and homey. The staff was very friendly and Maggie made sure our cups of coffee were never empty. My family really enjoyed their food and I did as well except the pancakes were pretty much room temperature and the ham was very thin like salami. Toast and home fries were harder than I like and I couldn’t eat it all.If you’re hungry and need good home-cooked breakfast food, this is your place. It is small so if you can’t handle being in a small dining room, best to go someplace else.
