It was alright. I had gotten the wonton soup and the beef in it was pink the chips that came with it were also stai. (image). I had also gotten the "spicy sesame chicken which was good bit lacking the spice. My mom had gotten the veggie fried rice, we both really liked the rice. The cashier was very nice but seemed confused. There was also a little robot that had brought us our food (images)
We used to really enjoy eating here fairly regularly. In fact, while the dining room was closed I made it a point to drive through at least twice a month and over tip to support this establshment. Tonight was the worst service, including the robot delivery method.Took 3 times to get one plate right. Twice for the other one. First order missed by the lady taking our order where we repeatedly ordered the "regular"dinner plate for both dishes. Robot delivered "small" plates. I was distracted by the novel robot situation. As I was about to eat, then realized it wasn't the usual amount of food. After trying to get someone's attention, the lady who took our order came back over and said she forgot to ask us what size, even though we told her more than once the "regular" plate for each. I pointed this out to her. She took our plates back and said we still needed to pay the difference and to go back to the register. So my husband got up and went BACK to the register where he waited, and no one came to the front to help. So he came back to our table to finish his soup. The lady showed up again and said we had to go back to the register to pay more. So now my husband gets up and goes BACK to the register. I still haven't had anything to eat. After the 2nd batch of food comes out, I notice they forgot to remove bell peppers, even though the first order had no bell peppers. So now I get to to go BACK to the register to tell them#2 round is wrong, and they rudely point out that the 2nd order didn't state no bell pepper. Well, my preference for bell pepper didn't change since the original order. How hard can you make this?Interestingly, the amount of food on the small plate looks about the same as the amount on the regular plate. When we were done eating, I noticed they incorrectly upcharged us. This was my LAST trip to the register taking a picture of our receipt and compared to the menu of what we originally ordered. We made at least 4 trips BACK to the register, not including my request for more tea, to deal with THEIR PROBLEMS and not ours. With PF Changs coming to town, y'all really need to step it up because that's already going to be a better option than dealing with robots and people who don't care about customer service.
I have enjoyed my combination fried rice and the lemon chicken dinner
I am saddened to write this review as I've been frequenting this business since they opened. The last 3 times we have visited (post pandemic) I can definitely tell something has changed. The quality has gone downhill. I'm giving 2 stars simply for the ginger soy sauce that comes with the potsticker appetizer, as that was the best thing about our meal last night. The potstickers were flat, ripped all over the place and the lettuce they were served on was brown and slimy. It's a shame because they have been voted one of the best in town, in previous years, but I'm afraid that has changed. I don't know what changes have been made, but please consider revising said changes, because we miss the old taipei quality.
This is easily the worst asian food in New Braunfels. It is so bad. Something changed here since Pandemic started. We have eaten here a few times times before, all prior to Covid....and it was not great, but tolerable. It is now incredibly terrible. Order three meals tonight for three people, NONE of us finished our meals. The combo noodles with shrimp was foul. It smelled like 3 days old. Will never return.
Yesterday was the 1st day that I had visited this restaurant. I will be back for sure. The staff there could not be any nicer they were just awesome and the restaurant and everything was so very very clean and the food was soooo good!! I ordered the Orange chicken and it was so good. The chicken was a nice white meat with plenty of flavor and was very moist...
I ordered the sweet and sour pork plate to go but there was no sweet and sour sauce in the bag. Probably an honest mistake but….come on lol. So I ended up eating fried nuggets of pork for lunch. Probably would have been good with the sauce but customer service and attention to detail is obviously lacking. The rice was okay. Overall average experience, not super impressive.
Good food and I will go back but vastly different from most Chinese food with regards to the Lo Mein. They use angle hair pasta instead of egg or other Chinese noodles. The food tastes good and is fresh and very hot when picked up.
Whatever you do do not even think of going through the drive-thru without calling in ahead of time. Drove by saw the sign knew they had a drive-thru thought it would be a great time to try them since there was only one car in the parking lot. There is a sign on the drive-thru window that says to please call ahead. The person at the drive-thru was less than enthused. I apologize for not calling ahead and let her know that I had never been here before. She never smiled and never acknowledged my apology took my order took my money and asked me to come back in 10 minutes. The food will have to knock my socks off in order for me to return.
Don't advertise that you have a drive-thru if you only want to use it as a pickup window. My first visit will probably be my only visit due to the lack of customer service. Driving by noticed there was only one car in the parking lot decided to stop in and try their food. When I pulled up to the drive-thru window there is a sign that says please call ahead. I did not think it would be a problem to order since their parking lot was basically empty but evidently it was an imposition for the girl that was working the drive-thru window. I I apologize that I was unaware of their policy she never smiled never acknowledged my apology just took my money and told me to come back in 10 minutes.
