I've been meaning to try this place out for a long time. It's been around forever. The 4.1 star rating was very misleading. There are at least five better Chinese restaurants within walking distance of this restaurant. I would suggest that you try one of those or just go home and order a pizza.I had kung pao chicken that was drenched in some kind of sweet and sour syrupy sauce. I asked for it to be extra spicy but there were no peppers anywhere to be found and honestly almost no flavor to be found either.Unfortunately I took my mother with me for this outing and she had the orange chicken. The chicken itself was rubbery and probably freezer burn is my best guess. She ate about five bites total and pushed away. The egg drop soup was okay but it was red! I've never seen red egg drop soup. It was off-putting and the flavor was just okay at best. The egg rolls were okay but probably frozen and reheated. They certainly didn't taste like they had been made fresh.Lastly, the service. it was good the young man who was working the dining room by himself hustled around all of the tables kept our drinks full and was very earnest in his effort. He did a good job. I think his family owns the restaurant.I'm glad that this family has had a successful restaurant but in order to continue in an ever more crowded New Braunfels market they are going to have to step up their game. Alternatively they should sell the land and put in a taco bell.

This was the most unreal Chinese restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Immediately upon walking in the doors, we noticed the hostess (Don't know if she's still there) had no shoes on and after showing us to our sticky dirty table, went ahead and laid town under a table near the front and watched videos on her phone. The next humongous red flag was the bottle of Heinz Ketchup sitting on the table. I'm not above using ketchup on food but if you need Ketchup for Chinese food, it can't be that great. We ordered and the food came out quickly which was the best thing up to that point! But we were shocked almost instantly when one of my family members put their fork into the food and the rock hard piece of chicken launched off the plate and straight over the the table top of the table next to us. We laughed hysterically for the next 5 minutes but when they tried again the fork bent and the second piece of chicken went flying off the table which sent us all over again! The staff looked at us like we were lunatics and to be completely honest, with the way we were laughing we probably did look like lunatics and some! But once we calmed down again we all tried to eat our plates we all felt that our food was over cooked, dry, and just lacked flavor. We paid for our food and settled for Panda Express a couple blocks down since we weren't feeling bold enough to try a new to us Chinese food place. Things might have changed there since then but I know that I don't plan on returning to Peking. Food 1/10 Entertainment 10/10

Hmm. I’m honestly wondering if the ppl of New Braunfels rating this place have ever had good Chinese food. Everything is sweet, even the stuff that shouldn’t be. Hot & sour soup is sweet. To-go portions are small. It’s not awful food but it’s not really good either. I make better stir fry at home. I don’t even want to know what’s making that rice safety-vest orange. It almost glows in the dark.

This place is normally great but honestly the last few times the sesame chicken has been chewy and flavors off. Super nice folks but something has changed.

Hunan shrimp and lemon chicken were not spicy but very sweet. Flooded in that brown sugar sauce with orange rice. 4 pieces of small shrimp and over cooked egg roll, egg drop soup and jasmine hot tea were very good. I know it's cheap prices, you can get some awesome tacos for the total I paid. Not clean table sticky, utensils questionable. Hostess was very sweet and welcoming which is a shame I have to leave this review.

Family owned business.Food is always incredible. Service is wonderful. And you can't beat the price .

Great food!! A must try. The prices are unbeatable for the amount of food that you receive. The rice was different but it is their take on it. The service was awesome.

It was ok. Both my husband and i think it was to sweet. Garlic chicken should not be sweet. A spicy dish that had no spice also just tasted of brown sauce not the garlic in it.. Portion was great wonton soup best we ever had. I need a great spicy garlic chicken so guess we will keep looking.

Hot and sour soup, garlic shrimp was good the cashew chicken had a wei flavor

my mom & i love this place. it’s a great hole in the wall. the owners are always so welcoming + treat us like family. i would 100% recommended this place! great for great prices :)
