Nice, quaint little place. Tons of freshly baked breads & sweetness. Friendly staff. First time here, I brought back fresh baked bread and jars of homemade fruit & nut spread.
So I had high expectations from all the hype … the cupcakes were yummy, but cookies were NOT GOOD at all. We got 7 different types of cookies… The gingerbread didn’t even taste like gingerbread… and all the other cookies were hard and tasteless… we did get a brownie and multiple cupcakes and those were VERY good and moist. Maybe we need to try other things!?? Just don’t get the cookies. Also, the staff member who helped us seemed a bit grumpy, like she was bothered to be doing her job. It made us feel kind of unwelcomed. I’m a firm believer in second chances, so we will try again, get a few different things, and we will see.

This bakery was recommended to me by locals and it did not disappoint. I got there in late afternoon and there still were plenty of choices. I was introduced to kolaches and loved them. The selection was excellent and the prices were very reasonable. The staff were very friendly and even made recommendations!

How can you not stop at the oldest bakery in Texas? We couldn't pass this up and stopped in around 9:30 this morning. Lots to choose from with reasonable prices. We intended to get one treat each but bought a good bit more for family and friends. Be sure to get some of their Fried Apple Pie ($1.75) and a Big Sticky Roll ($2.85).
