Low key, outdoor venue. The very reasonably priced crawfish were excellent and most were of a decent size. BYOB at this point but they are in the process of getting their license so check before you go. The servers are quick to help and friendly. Tarps and misters help with the heat. (We went for lunch in June and we're quite comfortable.) We will return!

The staff at Lazy J is absolutely amazing! The crawfish is the best I’ve had! Go check them out, you won’t regret it!

You’ll never be looked at as a customer here, ALWAYS as FAMILY!!! The staff are very attentive, very respectful. The owner makes it a priority to come up to each and every table and ask how things are, and gets to know us all. Their crawfish is amazing! Very family friendly here ?

The Twisted Tamales, Cajun Elote, Crawfish Rangoons, and the snow crab & shrimp platter were all so delicious. The staff and owner were very friendly, the live music was good and the sweet tea was perfect. We will definitely be back!!

Well, how would one ever explain this place. Perhaps "diamond in the rough"? We drove by this establishment on the way to San Marcos. Honestly it was pretty nondescript. Didn't really look like much from the main road and I didn't give it a second thought. After taking care of a little business in San Marcos, I told my partner in crime that I was hungry and wanted to eat. While I was googling local eateries, she suggested Lazy J Cajun. I hummed and hawed but gave in and away we went.We parked in the front of the building and walked to the entrance around back and were blown away!!! The atmosphere is rustic with picnic tables and plenty of shade to sit in. There was even a beautiful stage on site so it would stand to figure that live music happened there as well. We ordered nachos while we scoured the menu trying to decide what we wanted to eat. The wait staff were incredible and everyone was so very friendly. A gentleman whom I presume to be the owner, talked to us and thanked us for stopping by. He let us know that their liquor license was forthcoming but for now it was BYOB if that is what we wanted. Luckily, we had a couple a bottles of Moscato in tow so that worked out great! While we were trying to decide what to order, another patron dropped a large tray of crawfish off to both us and the table beside us saying it was too much for them to eat. I can see why!!!! it was the first time I had ever had crawfish and once word got out about this, I reached celebrity status! After trying the crawfish (and loving it) our food arrived. We ordered some seafood platter thing with jumbo shrimp, crab legs, corn and potatoes. The food was absolutely fantastic!!!Just when we thought the experience couldn't get any better, a band called "Off the Grid" set up and started playing. This quick stop for a bite to eat was now going on a five hour extravaganza! The band was fantastic and incredibly entertaining. Our waitress brought us some banana pudding which ended up being the best I had ever had. There is really no way to accurately portray how fun this adventure to Lazy J Cajun's was but we are certain to become regulars for sure! Thank you to everyone we met there for making our afternoon one of the most memorable evenings in recent memory. Great food, fantastic entertainment, friendly ambiance, extremely fair pricing all came together to make for a perfect way to spend an afternoon and evening!

Corn was to soggy. Crawfish we're not spicy enough. They should have spicy and not spicy options. Bathroom was NASTY. Won't be going back...

Great outdoor atmosphere. It’s BYOB with live music.Ordered:- Boudin Dip ?- (2) Snow Crab Clusters w/a 1/2lb of Shrimp ?- Pulled Pork Sandwich w/Jalapeño Ranch ?- No Banana Chunks Banana Pudding ??If you’re not sure what to order, trust the friendly staff.

A friend told me about Lazy J and we decided to try it yesterday. The crawfish and shrimp have great flavors. Definitely took care of my cravings. The staff was helpful and the food was brought out quickly. It's BYOB, so bring your cooler. Also only some of the tables had umbrellas, not sure if more umbrellas were available. As we were leaving, the manager told us there would be a band playing later and they would also be serving barbecued alligator. Unfortunately I could not make it back.

This is the second time I have purchased crawfish from Lazy J, and hands down, the best crawfish we've had here in Texas. I bought 33 pounds, and they were all alive and a good size. So I won't bother going anywhere else.

Had a really great first time experience here! We had the jumbo shrimp with corn and potatos and crawfish, both were delicious. Ask about the remoulade sauce, it's really good as well. Outdoor/Backyard vibe. They had a band there and that went really well with the setting. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well.
