Awesome food great service very knowledgeable of the food awesome place
I love eating at L&L. Growing up in Hilo but living in Texas I love to get my hands on some local ono plate lunches. I had the BBQ plate with beef, chicken, and short ribs. 2 scoops of rice and a scoop of mac salad. My wife had the saimin with bbq chicken on the side with a side of mac salad. I also had a Spam musubi. All were delicious.
I guess I will have to continue going all the way to San Antonio because this location was terrible in my experience. The box mix plate was dry seemed to be reheated rather than fresh. The taste was more charred than anything. I've love the one in San Antonio after I had bees in Hawaii for 5 years it was the closet thing I could find. This locations needs to do better.
Food is pretty good. I didn't care for everything being packaged to go even though we were dinning in. I had a salad with bbq chicken. It was delicious, but was a small portion of meat.
Awesome staff, they really know how to treat a customer and make them feel welcome. Very clean and pleasant surroundings and wonderful food. We will be going back
The spam ramen was very good. The katzu chicken was okay kind of bland. The 3 meat bbq plate was good same taste on all 3 meats, the chicken was the best is was tender.
I ordered the Garlic Fish plate. And I’m sorry to say it was terrible. This was a $14 plate and it was a waste of money. There was no seasoning at all. They put minced garlic over the top of the fish but that did absolutely nothing for flavor. Nothing on the plate had any salt or pepper let-alone any other spices, not the brown rice and especially not the steamed veggies. It was by far the most bland food I’ve had. I’m almost certain hospital food has more flavor than that dish. The fish was Mahi-mahi, it’s a waste of a decent piece of fish. DON’T order this meal try something else on the menu! I give it 2 starts because I don’t want to discourage people from giving this place a try. Just don’t get that plate.
Ordered the loco moco plate and spam musubi. Wow, they taste just like the L&L back in Hawaii! So ono!! We are very satisfied!! Mahalo!!
Busy ,Busy ,Busy went there for lunch Saturday and I must say Great service , Great food , I ordered then found out that they didn't have the right lunch plate but they replaced it with a more expensive meal and wouldn't let me pay the difference. Also brought us a free dessert. The manager apologized for the mix up. We will be back to try the other dishes.
Visited for lunch and they had a great variety of options from plates, to bowls, ramen, and Hawaiian sushi. Can get a bit busy because everyone has been waiting for them to open and everyone who has tried it is coming back for more! And for good reason! After visiting Hawaii, and another Hawaiian chain - L&L has more authentic food and seems like less of a fast food feel. After we left Hawaii we thought we would never have Hawaiian Sun drinks again -SO glad they have such a wide variety. Must try! We’re excited to try other plates and ramen next time!
