Our hostess at our hotel recommended this restraunt. Almost hidden away on a little side street is this charming quiet restaraunt. We went for a late lunch. Penne pasta was delacous and very filling. My husband had a burger and said the meat was perfectly cooked and the tomato did not touch the bun so no sogginess. Looking around there were many locals were there and that is always a good sign to me of a good place. Prices were reasonable for amount you got and the good service. Cant wait to go back for dinner and try a steak.
After touring New Braunfels on foot, we were looking for a good spot to eat and walked over to this restaurant that we had noticed because of its ample outdoor seating on a beautiful patio. We had our pupper with us and they were super accommodating. It was warm when we visited and super lovely out on the patio, but they appear to have heaters built-in, and some communal shawls hanging on a rack so it would probably even be nice in the winter. The service was great and so was the food. We started off with the Fried Brie. It was amazing. I can't complain about too much cheese, but we loaded up the granny smith apples and toast points that it came with and there was still plenty of cheese left over. That is the best kind of problem to have.A quick side note: they put the butter for the complimentary dinner rolls in the basket with the bread, so the heat from the rolls softens the butter. An elegant solution to the frozen butter so common at restaurants. For our main courses, we got the Three Salad Sampler and the Mixed Grill. We loved both of them. The Three Salads was only one leaf-type salad and the other two were chicken salad-like, which surprised us a little. Every part of the Mixed Grill was tasty, with the poblano bacon-wrapped chicken being a particular stand-out, and let you sample many different entrees in one. The horseradish and Dijon/Merlot sauces came together in a single cup, which was another surprise, but it worked well. This is a worthy addition to the growing list of excellent restaurants to be found in downtown New Braunfels.
Nice hidden gem. There’s a parking lot where you park, then walk down the alleyway on the left to get to front door and outdoor seating. It’s a very cute outdoor hangout. There’s a beer and wine bar outside too so that was nice and convenient. We sat inside for dinner. I have the salmon sandwich, which was fully cooked and was surprised it was nice and moist -delicious! They were busy but we had good food and service so I enjoyed it as first time experience. Would go back again.
One of the best meals AND service I've had in a very long time. I had the Yucatan chicken... amazing! My dad had the duck, absolute perfection. The desserts were all very yummy. Our waiter, Nick, was amazing! So fast and attentive. My sister didn't really care for her dish and he had no hesitation in making sure she got what she wanted and swiftly. He also recommended the chocolate cake because it was his personal favorite and he was right! It was delicious!
I love this place. I order to take out and it is always perfect. The food is the best in town. This place has been my favorite for 16 years. It has stood the test of time.

Located adjacent to the Grasssmarket in the historic section of New Braunfels, Huisache Grill has an absolutely charming location and even moreso charming atmosphere. As I'm still investigating the area and places to eat, this place popped up on Google Maps and it was well worth the short wait. Food was excellent and very affordable, the wait staff was friendly and the overall dining experience was laid back and pleasant. If you are in the area, I highly recommend this spot - quality food options that don't break the bank.
Had a positive first experience! We felt taken care of from start to finish. Initially their patio was full but we were seated nearby with drinks and the wait was reasonable. Our server was professional and efficient. The food was delicious. I personally got the penne. The outdoor seating is very comfortable and has relaxing atmospheric jazz music.Recommended! Strong restaurant.
First time here, such a cute and quaint place and I loved the music, ever so lightly playing in the background. I had a very tasty burger and my sweet friend had the trout, both very good. The Caesar salad was topped with these amazing tasting tomatoes, I'm still craving them. Our waitress was delightful. Very nice experience!
Food tasted good. Pork was a little dry and tough, but salad and sides were great. Very fresh. Unique menu items. Service was good; very pleasant staff. Will eat here again.
