I saw this place on Texas Bucket list and was driving from San Antonio to Austin, so had to stop in because Shane has never let me down. Was a nice surprise, there was a good country band playing and the atmosphere was awesome! Whether you want to sit inside, outside, or open air covered, this place is for you. Can tell it’s a local place and hidden gem. The burger was very good, but they are not playin around with that chicken sandwich. I also loved the onion rings! Caught a glimpse of some fried mushrooms that had my mouth watering. My server Mari was absolutely amazing also. As they say, well worth a stop on the Texas bucket list! Come out and support your local businesses and avoid chains! I highly recommend this place.
We held an event her for my son's rehearsal dinner. Let me just say it was 104 degrees that evening and the fans and misting system did help cool things off. Kerry, who is the contact for the event was amazing from the time we booked it until the final day. She was patient with all of my request and said yes to EVERYTHING. They were so easy and all about customer service! Finding a place on a Friday night in New Braunfels for an event in the summer was impossible, but Freiheit delivered. They were kind and the food was great. They let us rent the dance floor, the band was excellent, we were able to decorate, they turned down the music so we could talk to our guest at our party... everything was perfect despite the ridiculous heat. We highly recommend!
Just a good time place with rea food and old time buildings and outdoor music area. Our group tried 3 different burgers and all were cooked perfectly and the toppings were on the spot! Great onion rings, tots and curly fries. However the french fries were a tad burnt. Very positive staff. Great experience at an old time place!
There's a place for inside seating, there are outdoor bars, there is a stage and live music on the weekends.. a nice play area for kids as well. Good German food and good burgers. Ice cold beer. Desserts looked good, but I skipped.
Great venue. Great vibe. Lots of outdoor seating. Old fashioned ice cream counter with Blue Bell at the ready. Great barS Outside. Skip the queso. Chips were great, but queso was think and eh on flavor. Ice cold beer! I got the extreme burger for lunch, and it was juicy, delicious, and just the right amount of toppings. Yummy! Grilled jalapeños gave it an extra punch that was well worth getting the extreme. 1/3 pound was more than enough as well. Hand cut fries were amazing!!!! Can’t wait to try this place again at night to see some LIVE music!
Wait staff excellent at lunchtime but my hamburger steak was thin and dried out, mashed potatoes had a gray color with dark tiny skins mashed in. only warm not hot. Green beans were good. Been going there for over 20 years but very disappointed today. May try them once more to see if it's better.
Friendly family dining with home style cooking. The burgers are amazing and huge! I did not have room for dessert! They have a bar, music and dancefloor just steps away in the building outside the back door! Fun atmosphere and friendly attentive staff! Loved the Bailey's in my coffee, just right for a freezing evening. I love this place! They even have an ice cream parlor ?
The food was phenomenal. Not very many indoor seating options so think about weather when going. Even with most tables full the food came quick. Chicken fried steak is massive and the burgers were fantastic!
Great place! Went with my wife and son for lunch and the food was great. We sat outside but there is an inside part for the traditional restaurant setting. They have a playground for kids which was nice while we waited, it kept our son occupied so we could chat. My wife and I will be going to check out the night life since they have an outdoor venue for live music. Highly recommend checking this place out!
Cute spot. Feels cozy. The outdoor bar and patio is really pretty. Service kinda slow but we went on a Saturday so it was busy. Salad was basic should’ve got the burger. Fries tasted amazing. Would’ve been 5 stars if they didn’t keep forgetting our drinks and side orders.
