This is my family's favorite Tex-Mex in the San Antonio/New Braunfels area. The food is great, full of flavor and just the right amount of spices-not bland like so many others in the area. Their chips and salsa set the standard and their entrees like enchiladas are top notch. They are reasonably priced with good, friendly service and a nice atmosphere. Only downside can be the Texas summer heat, since much of their seating is outdoors.
The Cantina is a quant place hanging off the end of the main street with an awesome assortment of Mex delites. I tried the Mexican burger and found it very tasty with chilies, sauces etc. Chips are bottomless with a spicy sauce. Way to much to eat! Very unique and delicious. The margs are advertised as the "best rated" over 10 years. I found them flavourful and tart though I suggest they be served out of a glass verses a plastic cup. The experience would be oh so much better. If visiting, be sure to sit out on the back patio. A great spot to chill, with sufficient margs of course!
Good prices, friendly servers, delicious chips and salsa, and tacos. Went back a second time for fajitas with more friends. Highly recommend.
As a local, this is by far one of my favorite restaurants too frequent. Food always on point. wait staff is kind. managers treat you not like just a customer, but like family. Drinks are well made and the place is kept really clean considering how busy it gets. If you've ever driven through NB and haven't been here; your missing out!
Had a 40 minute wait, but it was Saturday so it was just fine. Had a very nice and cheerful server. Chips and salsa and quac were great! Chips some of the best we've had! The fajitas and fish tacos were excellent. We REALLY appreciated that the music playing on the background was actually "in the background. " it added nicely to the atmosphere but didn't make conversation difficult to have at all! Thanks for a wonderful evening meal!
The fajita nachos were ok. Very little meat. Lots of cheese. I would not order them again. Prices kind of high for Tex Mex. Probably would not go back.

Great place for margaritas! I haven’t tried the food. Very much a “cantina”, these are not fancy vibes. Come dressed casually. Amazing happy hour deals.
Margs we’re wonderful and the day was outstanding! I luv the outside bar with the stools - great place to enjoy the great outdoors while enjoying your drinks! Definitely coming back!
