Buttermilk Cafe is open through lunch. We love their breakfast options. The food is hearty and the staff is attentive.
My husband and I were looking for a local place that served a traditional breakfast for him, and something with a twist for me. We both LOVED our meals - I had Strada, and he had a pancake/ham/fried egg. But what tipped it into a 5star experience was the care and engagement with Marcy, Mark and Aunt Julie. They truly love what they do and they do it well!
We are here around 8:30 am on a Wednesday. Called on our way to get on the waitlist as I’d seen that suggested from others. This particular day and time we could have gotten sat immediately so the call ahead was not necessary but hey, better safe than sorry!They only serve eggs Benedict on the weekends and currently they are closed on Saturday so that leaves 1 day to get this item, big fat bummer as many reviews reference this item and I was hoping to try it . Plan B - I got the coastal dish and my husband got the grilled Banana Bread. My dish was delicious!! The shrimp were huge and plentiful (I think 5) The lobster sauce was delightful and seasoned perfect, no need for additional salt! Bravo chef! It does come with a side of buttered toast but I HAD to try a biscuit. It looked dry but alas it was so moist and flavorful that I didn’t even butter it.Now my husbands meal was not so glamorous. First off it was cold and dry. I encouraged him to send it back and order something different but that’s not his style. He said it was edible with a ton of syrup. ?♀️ He said his bacon was great though! I did take a bite of the banana bread and I didn’t think it was as dry as he thought it was however it WAS lacking in flavor in my opinion.Some reviews mentioned getting free muffins before their food arrived. I’m guessing they only do this when there’s a wait so we didn’t experience that.The staff were very friendly and the service was excellent. Overall if you’ve never been here, give it a try!
Best food we have ever had super service our little server was great
We saw people going in and out so we thought we would give this place a shot. Some observations from a place that we went for breakfast would be this place is expensive the waitress that we had had a serious attitude problem and the food was not even remotely as good as I expected. It was definitely a one and done for us we will never be back.
The Coastal Breakfast with the Lobster Sauce was excellent! Highly reccomend. The deconstructed fruit parfait was nice. Also had fried green zucchini. The wait staff reccomended all the food and it was excellent. Very attentive and great service. Will be back!
Wonderful place with friendly atmosphere and very tasty food. Avocado toast and fried green tomatoes were absolutely amazing. Fresh and crispy toast with a lot of green stuff and very yummy tomatoes. It's absolutely worth to wait 10-15 minutes for a table.

Excellent food! Took us a little bit to get a table because they are so popular but it was worth the short wait! Kids loved the pancakes (one was gluten free), we had omelets and and I chose jalapeños and pico de gallo (and more) on my and it was fabulous! One had grits and liked them. I had friend potatoes (yummy) and biscuits (wow).Our server was Mercedez and she was fabulous! She got every detail right, handled multiple tables at the same time, and never left us needing something we asked for. She was preemptive. Can't wait until our next visit!
