This bbq joint was new to us but wanted to try it because of a great rating it got at a branch in Lockhart, best in texas. And it was fantastic. we had beef bones, pork ribs and brisket. the beef bones were huge and tender and moist and delicious. the pork ribs had great smoke flavor and the brisket was as described, super tender and smoky and fantastic. we had all our meat unsauced so we could taste the smoking. the bbq sauce they provide is also just right. this is a must bbq stopping place!
For the price, I was not that impressed with the barbecue. I ordered a sample of most of the meats, the only ones I enjoyed were the pork ribs and beef ribs. The sausage didn’t have much flavor and the brisket was dry. I wasn’t impressed with the sides, I tried tried potato salad, coleslaw and green beans. Overall, it was decent barbecue, I was suggest the pork ribs and beef ribs.
I am not sure I have ever met a Texan who did not like BBQ. My favorite is brisket. Nine of us enjoyed a delicious lunch and were able to catch up on the past year. Since everything was a la carte I only ordered potato salad with my half pound of sliced lean brisket. It just so happened that they just brought out a fresh brisket so I got the end pieces and savored every bite. The potato salad was fresh and tasty. BBQ sauce was just right but could easily have been eliminated since the meat was so flavorful. Others ordered beef ribs and raved about them. So glad one of our friends chose this restaurant.
We used Black's to ship a birthday treat for our son. Arrived in excellent condition. The meat was moist and tender. He was happy to have a bit of Texas BBQ in Atlanta GA.
Great brisket sandwich, better than I expected.
This place is real deal BBQ. The brisket was perfect. Sides were delicious and they gave generous amounts. If you are anywhere near Blacks BBQ, you have to try it.
Sausage (very dry) and brisket were awful. Chicken was undercooked and tough. There is a better option in town. Sorry, over rated.
Highway robbery. Beef ribs are SO fatty. After removing the bone and maybe half the fat, there was very little left. To make things worse, they add the weight of the pickles, onions and aluminum pan to the weight at $20.99/ lb as if they were ribs. $90. For two ribs. Highway Ribbery. Total rip-off for terrible quality.
The sides and the sausage were good, but the brisket was about as good as it gets. If you see Blacks order the moist brisket.
Best brisket I’ve ever eaten. Tender and moist. Lean or fatty cuts available. Not a fan of brisket normally, but this place does it right. I would have preferred a sweet sauce, but it was perfect without any.
