Newk’s catering did an amazing job for my son’s graduation party. They went above and beyond for his milestone. The food was made perfectly and they provided all the extras. I will definitely use Newk’s in the future for catering. Thank you for making my son’s day a memorable and awesome event. Everyone loved the sandwich party tray!
We grabbed lunch with my Aunt while dropping my son off at his apartment. As you step in, there is a large sign with a QR code where you can grab a number and place your order via the internet. That is way more efficient than sitting in line. I am not sure if people are used to that in East Texas, as people would look at the sign and look confused. I told the folk glaring at the sign, "It is like ordering an Uber. All you need to do is order you food over the internet, easy peasy." You would have thought I was speaking Greek to them. I place my order on my phone and paid for it.The server brought out our order very quickly. She was very sweet and polite. There was not an option where I could order a glass of water, as I do not drink sodas. She was nice enough to bring one over for me.The Chipotle Caesar Shrimp Sandwich was amazing. The bread the perfect firmness. The shrimp had a nice tang to them. I only with there were more shrimp on the sandwich. The shrimp were also larger than you would get at many sit down restaurants I have been to. I had opted for the Chicken Gumbo soup, which was equally tasty. My son ordered chocolate cake for dessert. I am usually not a fan of chocolate cake with chocolate icing. This cake was not too sweet and hit the spot when you are craving dessert.The food and service are top notch at this Newk's. If you are looking to get in, grab lunch and get back to work, this is the place to do it.
And the award for slowest place in Nacogdoches has been awarded to Newks, by me...25 minutes for 1 mac and cheese!This establishment is severely overpriced and the portions are not comparable to the price.The staff was polite but the service was so very painfully slow, and they weren't even very busy and I could see quite a few employees. Gumbo wasn't great but the pimento cheese was. Doesn't make up for the slowness though. If you plan to go here, don't be too hungry when you get here and bring plenty of money. ?
They got my order wrong. I drove back to get it fixed, no big deal, these things happen. However, when I got back home the fixed order was missing ingredients, so I called them to ask what happened and all they said was that they were out and making more. I asked why they didn't let me know that they couldn't fully complete the order when I came back to get it fixed? I asked for a partial refund of just the one item not the whole meal, and was told they wouldn't do that but if I drove back a THIRD time I could get a free dessert. Really?
Ordered a shrimp po boy that comes with 12 shrimp according to the online menu, get back to work and there's only 5 shrimp on the po boy, called the establishment back and spoke with the server who took my order and explained what was going on with my po boy, she transferred me to Jessica who was very rude telling me she can't deliver me a correct sandwich and if she could get my number and call me back because they are busy with the lunch rush and mind you I went up there on my lunch break a little after 12 and it was not that busy, then Jessica goes on to tell me that you can come back up here and we can make you another sandwich and I told her that I was back at work and I could not come back so she said the only thing I can do is discount it for you and I told her if that the case you can give me all my money back. So I sent someone up there with the food they game and my receipt and Jessica was rude to her would not give the money back nor fix me the po boy the correct way. Newk's in Nacogdoches

Food is fresh and prepared to order. Staff is friendly and courteous.
They are usually the best. Food and service. However, today I ordered curbside pickup. Service was great, but they got my order wrong. Ordered 2 clubs and got 1 club and 1 chicken salad sandwich on wrong kind of bread. I'm sure they are short staffed like everyone else, but really need to pay attention to what people order. And yes, they even repeated back to me the order! Oh well, they are usually very good, so will try again another time.
I had the Italian half sandwich and Mac n cheese. Both delicious. Service quick and friendly ?
HUGE shout out to Newk's just now. They were swamped and short handed. The manager handled an upset customer with grace. Great job to all of the employees at Newk's.
