The Service and Entertainment were Exceptional !!
Excellent food, service and drinks! I had the Ahi tuna salad which was delicious and hubs had the burger and fries which were also delicious. Server was quick and super friendly. Would highly recommend!
An acquaintance recommended Mak's to us, and I'm so glad he did! I have never enjoyed a meal more - and that's saying a LOT! The appetizer was so yummy! We had the Ahi Tuna appetizer. We would have preferred it to be cooked slightly less, but overall, it was great! The thinly sliced ginger, on the side of the tuna, was SO FUN!! For the entree, the stuffed flank steak was the best food I've put in my mouth (outside of our own cooking?), although it wasn't my husband's favorite. The cream cheese spinach stuffing wasn't in his flavor profile, but it sure did suit mine! He is glad he got the tacos! Our server told us the steak was a new menu item, so I want to chime in and say they got this item RIGHT! The steak was super tender and perfectly flashed fried - the crust was so fun! The creamy sauce perfectly complemented the stuffing! The steamed broccoli was cooked well, and the mixed veggies were good as well but were slightly over-salted. Overall, the meal was delicious!
Apparently, Mak's new menu requires a new policy. I had been eating here about 1 or 2 times a week for the last 5-6 years, but never again. I tried to order food that was made to order, i.e. I didn't want onions, corn and some other ingredients in my tacos, both because I don't like them and because I'm on a keto diet and am avoiding some things. I was told that leaving onions off of something is a "substitution" and "the new menus from last week say no substitutes." on the specials. If customer service is no longer important in the name of expedience then so be it. I totally understand business decisions, I've just made the decision to take my business elsewhere and I suggest you do the same.
I have my favorite meals here, but everything I've tried has been delicious. Service is always great, even when they're busy.
I had a family member that wanted to try this place so we went on a Friday night. Staff was friendly, place was clean and prices were decent. This just wasn't for me. It was smaller than I thought which placed people closer together than I like. The food was also just so so to me. I had the chicken and veggies. It was advertised as juicy chicken but felt more like the chicken was steamed with the veggies. Taste was good but there was a lot of what I would call "flavored water" on my plate and not juice from a cooked chicken. My family member also thought their food was just OK as well. Would I go back? Nah.. others may like it but as I said, it wasn't for me.
I have been to macs several times, but this review is a result of the past few times I have been.The wing price on the menu is not the price you will be charged.I have been told 3 times by staff members the menus are being updated, but they have not been.This will be my last time at Macklemore’s, and being swindled out of money, until the prices on the menu reflect what I will be charged.Yes, I was also informed of the small sign at the front apparently listing this; but this is a ploy, charging customers on the front end, and putting the blame on the consumer to read a sign that is not very visible for a 25% increase in price.
Best burgers and tacos ever! Atmosphere is relaxing an me service is familial. Nacogdoches is a great town and Maklemore's represents it perfectly.
Their Mac and cheese balls are hard to beat, especially the spicy ones. I’ve only ever had good service and excellent food here. Their appetizers are hard to beat
