This place is AMAZING!! My husband and I were visiting Nacogdoches for the first time, and the reviews convinced us we had to try El Ranchero. When I saw “two free margaritas” advertised, I thought it was a joke or there was some catch, but THIS IS FOR REAL!! And they are real margaritas! (Choose between mango, lime, or strawberry.) My husband said his burrito was “the best he has ever eaten” and my soft beef tacos were amazing..some of the best I’ve eaten too! Would recommended this place to anyone visiting Nacogdoches!
Always amazing! Tried chicken enchiladas w sour cream and they were great! Never tried them here before. Of course chips and salsa were fantastic. Service is always excellent here. My grown kids still call it "fast mexican".
Food was a little flavorless to me. Not bad but not memorable. Waitstaff was friendly and attentive. However. There IS NO BAR!!!! They offer two free margaritas supposedly made with tequila. We did not finish them as they had no bite at all. Frozen water.

I lived in Nac for 15 years before I realized how good this place is. I used to not care for it, I think it's really improved. The salsa is hands down the best in town and their street tacos are my favorite. We eat there at least once per week now, sometimes more, and have never had anything less than stellar service. The employees that keep the chips and salsa coming are killing it at their job, between that and my lack of self control, I'm so full by the time the entrees arrive, I take half or more home for another meal.
Salsa was great. It's the warm salsa, not the cold kind. Food was pretty good. Rice was a little under cooked, but still good.
Great food and service!!! The best salsa I’ve never had salsa that was temperature hot and man was it good it came steaming.
Had dinner here with some friends and loved the chips and salsa, service was friendly and the food was good. Mostly I’m here because I accidentally left my wallet here, didn’t realize it until the next afternoon and went in to the restaurant to check if they had found it. They had! Had it in the back, asked me what color it was, brought it out to me. I had $200 in cash inside and it was all intact! Thank you El ranchero!
