I've had their chopped beef (on a sandwich and on baked potatoes). Their meat was very tender and tasty, and they give a good sized portion (some places give too little meat for the potatoes). I really like their BBQ sauce. I also tried their banana pudding which was thick, creamy and is a good sized portion as well. The staff is friendly and the prices are good. I haven't experienced it yet but, they also have live music sometimes (I don't know whether that's random or a weekly thing).
I went in well after the lunch crowd at 3:00 p.m. I was literally the only customer or potential customer I might say in the building. Three people watched me walk in the door and I stood at the front for at least 5 minutes. I walked around the corner and made sure the people in the back could see me standing there. They continue talking and ignoring me so I left. I wish I could have eaten there because I have heard good things. Unfortunately this was not my experience
I really enjoy eating at McKenzie's. The meat is full of flavor, my son loves the mac n cheese, and the BBQ sauce really makes the meal. My favorite is the spicy one. I have also recently discovered that they have live music on Friday nights. My family and I are regulars and having live music to look forward to will get us there on Fridays.
Consistently good BBQ smoked with real wood.... no pellet smokers used here.
Have eaten here several times when we pass through with our RV. Has always been quick and tasty. This trip I tried something new a brisket stuffed grill cheese sandwich. Outstanding!
New to the area and looking for new staples for takeout nights and this will def be one of them! Quick and delicious! Ordered the family meals
I have been going to McKenzie's for years and I always get the baked potato with meat. Unfortunately I was so disappointed with my food this time. My potato was dried out like it was over cooked or old. Also the chopped beef was dried out I couldn't even eat my food. Money wasted. I definitely won't be returning.
Love this place! Great BBQ & great service. The folks here are A-1 in my book.
Had the slice beef, marbled...pulled pork....jalapeno sausage.... 2 sides... no bbq sauce while eating foodThe beef was very dry. Pulled pork was ok, tender, fairly moist. Jalapeno sausage has a great taste, mild in spice at first, but spicy in the end.Side are sides; they were good.
You have to try the sloppy Joe!!! It’s cheap and delicious makes a quick meal when you are on the go and the employees are super!
