Went in for lunch. We were greeted and seated right away. Our service was excellent. We had about 2 servers and they were polite. The homemade lemonade was ok but you can't go wrong with a Mexican coke. The food was delish. Big servings one person can share a fajita plate for one. I had started with tortilla soup which was a good taste and helped me with my hangover. The check was about 55$ for 2 of us. I had a fajita plate and my hubby had a combo plate with a soup and 2 drinks. Not bad prices. Overall great experience will be back again.
Update- My 3 year old son felt pretty bad after only eating rice and beans. Complaining his stomach hurts. He threw up all over our living room as soon as we got home!!! **see picture attached***Tried this restaurant based on the reviews.Really dissapointed. The flood was bland. No flavor whatsoever. My son order the chicken nuggets and french fries. After the first try he said it was not good. Didn’t believe him I tried myself. Fries and chicken tenders tasted like cardboard. Will never come back. For the amount of money you pay is not worth it.
The food was mediocre and expensive, and the staff was rude. The server refused to make a recommendation, when asked, and even had another server come to the table that implied they had never eaten there. That’s a red flag to me if the staff won’t eat there. There are several much better Mexican restaurants right around this area. El Regio is so much better.
First time to this restaurant based on its high rating.Ordered over the phone for pickup. The lady was nice and helpful so service is great.Portion size is great. The Chicken Quesadilla meal comes with beans and rice, pico, guac and sour cream. The beans was good but the rice was not tasty so I mixed the rice with beans and the combo was great. I was a bit disappointed at the quesadilla. It had too much chicken, which I wouldn’t complain about if the chicken was actually seasoned. Chicken to cheese ratio was off. Not enough cheese and the cheese was hardly melted. I wanted to like it but honestly it was just not good. I’ve had better quesadillas.I would give the Queso a 3. Maybe I’m just spoiled by the Queso from Torchy’s which is the best I’ve had so far. The cheese was well blended and somewhat tasty. However it got stiffer by the minute as it cooled off. Became too thick.Overall based on my personal experience with this particular Chicken Quesadillas I’d give this place a 2.5.I still recommend. Maybe other items on the menu are better. Just not the chicken quesadilla.
I Ordered a takeout order through Door Dash. They accused the delivery driver of stealing a meal. Sure, the driver picked it up, went through it, stole our enchiladas, and packed everything back in there nice a neat… That is absurd and these people have always been ok when dining there, unless they get something wrong. They have numerous times got something wrong and said me or someone I was dining with was lying about something as small as wanting charro beans instead of refried. I always have just let it go but today they just really frustrated us when it’s very clear they made the mistake and refused to admit it or do anything about it. They are shiesty and shady. I have watched their food quality and service decline rapidly over the years and can’t wait to see how the new Johnny Tamale restaurant will be. I can’t see myself ever supporting mediocre food and terrible service. No integrity and today absolutely rude. They have gone from ok to the worst place to get Mexican Cuisine! Glad they will have some competition a block away soon.
We had the loaded nachos and quesadillas. The food was amazing! Fresh, seasoned just right with ample portions. Treat yourself to a margarita while you're there - you'll be glad you did!
We liked going to this establishment from time to time but no longer. We went on 1/11 and at lunch time the place had only one other table of customers. We had to wait and extended period of time until the waiter even came over to our table. After this there was another lengthy time until our food arrived. We asked for our taco to home out first but it did not. The quality of food was not very good also. I noticed the waiter was different, but this is not excuse. Was the cook staff also new? Very disappointed!
Vaqueros serves food on par with Escalante's, only much cheaper. Biggest complaint is that the ground beef taco meat isn't always served hot on the taco. You have to request cheese on the taco and my wife found it bland. Other than temperature, I was happy with it. Margaritas sometimes taste like they were poured from a pre-made bottle. Not so happy happy hour ends at 6:00. Everything else is excellent. Great cheese enchiladas!
Food is always great and customer service needs improvement. Gratuity is included in the price but does not mean waiters should sacrifice quality customer service. Waiter took 15mins to return to take our order, no refills offered, no extra napkins. We only saw him for the order, the food delivery, and the check of course.
Great cheese enchiladas. The refried beans and rice were very flavorful and tasty. Will be returning in the future.
