One thing I noticed upon walking in, it is SO CLEAN. Very cute BBQ joint and delicious food. (Try the southwestern corn, Jalapeño Cheese Sausage, and peach cobbler; it was my favorite.) I did not catch the womans name who served us on 4/22 but she was very professional, suggested menu items, and made small talk with my husband and I. You can’t ever beat a welcoming environment.I really enjoyed eating here. If we ever go back through Midland I will be stopping by to grab some BBQ.
For this to be one of the bush family’s favorite places to eat I just don’t get it. They were very shorthanded which is understandable nowadays and the waitress had a lot to do. But she was still really nice and the best she could. So I gave her five stars but the food the only thing that I didn’t like was the peach cobbler. The meat was very tender but it was extremely dry from being way over cooked which was brisket the macaroni and cheese was not too bad but everything else was way too salty and it just was not good I feel sorry for all the homeless people that I thought all that food that they could’ve eaten but I wouldn’t of even giving it to them. I’m sorry I know this sounds harsh but it was true. If you want good barbecue this is not the place to go.
Johnny’s is hands down the best BBQ in Texas. There ribs are to die for tender fall of the bone delicious. The sausage/Brisket just as tender and good as there Rib’s. Great dessert’s (Real Banana Pudding) Great Cobbler. You definitely get your money’s worth. Good Sweet Tea. Great people all the employees treat you like family always a smile on there face’s. Fine Texas Folks with delicious BBQ. Bring your family and friends they will leave with full bellies and smile on there faces!!!!!!
Johnny's BBQ is great authentic Texas BBQ. We had 1/2 rack ribs and the 4 meat sampler with pulled pork, brisket, sausage and the chopped BBQ. All of them were fantastic.
Ribs so tender and juicy that the meat slid off the bone! The smoked turkey was incredible as well. I like their unique flavored house barbecue sauce. Definitely has to be on your midland list to try.The two ladies running the place are very friendly and patient.

Good BBQ-Better sides!The bbq is better than average. I wasn’t a huge fan of the black oak sausage however the brisket was very good.Butter beans and cream corn were off the chain!!Service was wonderful. The staff seemed like they enjoyed their job and that’s a plus.All in all I’d definitely come back. If for no other reason than to try the ribs (currently out due to shortages but that can’t last!)
