If I could give no stars … I would. So we have given this place a few chances and every time it’s just lousy service and lousy food. This was our last straw and we won’t be back. So let me save you the trouble… we came in and got sat. It look 10 minutes for our server to even acknowledge us and another 10 to get a regular drink one of which isn’t even what we ordered. We ordered some queso to start and we’re still waiting on a bar drink. I had to ask him where our bar drink was before it was brought to us. We ordered and I very clearly pointed to the menu item I wanted while ordering. My husband ordered the same thing and we wait again for another 30 minutes. Still no queso.. by this time our drinks were empty and had been for a while. We notice that our server is talking to every table around us and not acknowledging ours… literally going the long way around to avoid our table as we were in the middle. People who had came in a good 20-30 minutes after us were getting their food. Still no queso. So I flag him down and tell him he might as well just cancel the queso and maybe get a refill on drinks. Our food comes. It’s the wrong thing.. and both steaks look way over cooked. By this time I’m agitated I don’t normally get a manager involved but we still have no drinks, never got the queso, and now our food is wrong and our server keeps doing the bare minimum and running off before we can ever ask for anything. So I get the manager. Let him know I understand being short staffed but their has been no attempt to make up for his service.. Atleast a “hey I know it’s not here I’ll check on it” just him running to serve every table but ours. And that we don’t even really want the food at this point. (A man that had over heard me sitting at the bar also told the manager he agreed with me and that it was the third complaint he had over heard since he had been there) the manager says he will comp everything. Cool I mean I’m not gunna pay for something that I didn’t even want in the first place. So I go sit and let my husband know and tell him I’m going to the restroom before we leave . We get some to go boxes and still waiting for a check because I expect to pay for the bar drink. Well my husband goes to the manager and he starts to back track and spew some stuff about how he can’t comp all of it (which is a lie and anyone who has ever been in the service industry knows that’s a blatant lie.. I’m also a server/bar tender) well I was not up there and didn’t know that this was going on so we ended up paying almost 40$ for food we didn’t order. Crappy service. And all around a terrible experience. I will let any one and everyone know that your money is well spent else where. I’m still in shock of how bad this was ..
The hostesses should work more and flirts with the guests less. Probably part of the reason your restaurant is struggling.
I’ve gotta say, we have eaten Chilis in Midland multiple times and it never fails to be missing something or bad food. Tonight I placed a Togo order. The tortilla strips in the salad are old— very stale. No dressing with the salad was sent and the side for the kids meal was missing. 1 dip was with the triple dipper and it was completely upside down in the box and poured out. Sounds picky, but the staff told me the dine in closed at 4 because they didn’t have enough cooks so they were only doing togo and delivery. They didn’t seem terribly busy and you would think the staff putting food together would have paid a little better attention. Not to mention, the togo counter was filthy and there is a smell in the place. I’m giving up on Chilis in Midland. ****Edit to add the chicken on the salad was burnt. The crust had a horrible flavor and chunks of black burned pieces were in my box. Do better, Chilis!****
The service was not good. We arrived at 12:20. Waitress only had 2 other tables, was slow to take our order. Another table was seated, and they received appetizers and their food, and we still waited. One time the waitress committed that our food would be right out. Still we waited. At 1:40, we asked to pay for the water and tea, and left. The worst part was that our waitress was also the waitstaff manager.
Went there today and the only thing we were satisfied with was our waitress Kimberly. To start the hostess had an attitude when we arrived didn't give us menus and told us to scan the barcode. When we got our food it was HORRIBLE. My mom ordered chicken fajitas that weren't even grilled it looked like and tasted like it was just boiled in water. I had the anchovy salmon and it was flavorless as well. HEB meals simple taste better than the salmon I had there. The loaded mashed potatoes were also instant mashed potatoes. You can make a better meal at home, why is it that the bad restaurants are staying open but the good ones are closing?
Do yourself a favor and eat elsewhere. Ordered Chili's through Door Dash since usually it is a long wait, but typically we enjoy the food. Apparently if you order to-go, they DO NOT care about what they put in your to-go box. I had ordered the triple dipper which is usually WAY too much food. Quite the opposite. Maybe 8 small cheddar bites, 3 wings, and only 2 out of the 3 sauces were included. Not enough to even fill me up! And on top of that, another drink was missing in the order. I have had my fill of Chili's in the Midland area, will not be ordering again.
Service here gets more and more bad . We get here at 8:30 and already they are picking up chairs host tried to seat us in a corn where there where already family's and we where a group of 5 let them no we wanted to be seated else where that we would all be very squished in that small corner. Left came back with an attitude let her know from the begging that it going to be tight with all of us there and that it was still early and that we called to make sure they closed at 10:00 and not early . We had different servers and some times to services but was very taken by when we saw a girl standing on a booth bench doing a man's hairs doing a braid . Guy was sitting down in front of her holding a cane maybe there in the profession and should go for hair not work in a RESTAURANT/ food industry the whole group didn't even seem to care at all just sat down and didn't even bother to see if any of the tables needed anything
I already wasn’t expecting much when I walked into Chili’s but I was severely underwhelmed by my most recent experience. Our server was awful she only came to our table 2 times the entire night, once to get our drink order (which she didn’t get right) and to get our food order. Our appetizer came out at the same time our entrees came out and everything was cold, so that means it was sitting out for a while. Our check was also wrong but it was already such a hassle to get any service I just paid and left because I wanted to get out of there.
Food was cold over cooked, cheese dip looks and taste like Hormel Chilli! The waitress was very nice! The Manger was a fill in from Abilene she was very nice and helpful!
If you have a large party dont waste your time, plenty of tables available, but was told we had to wait outside, it was super cold, it would be 45 min because they were closing 2 sections. Manger made no effort, and implied he didn’t want our business with his lack of effort. Better to eat local
