Incredibly cool place in the old city. Pretty much stepping back to a time where service was the key to success. This place is a must see in the area. I mean seriously, how can you go to Mesquite, TX without going to Mesquite BBQ. This place is iconic. The plate lunches are definitely more than filling. Great sized portions, incredible tastes and the ambience and service are off the charts. This place has one of the most deliciously smokey flavors that I've tried. You will definitely leave feeling like you've won the food lotto. Enjoy your BBQ, then you have to give these folks a try.
Absolutely amazingly delicious Ribs and sides. Was feeling a little famished after heading to the Mesquite gun show, which wasn't really worth driving to and happened to drive up to this gem of a place. It's very old-timey and no frills kind of restaurant/smoke house. Which is exactly what made me and Wifey want to try it. Usually the flashy ones are not the best. The staff was so welcoming and kind, I asked for the biggest rack of ribs available and went to town. I do not regret anything after that. All of the dishes were just to die for flavorful and scrumptious as if grandma herself was preparing them. I will return no doubt soon to stuff my face with deliciousness in the near future. If you're in Mesquite, don't make the mistake to skip this gem. You'll regret it!
I eat here at least once month sometimes more. My fav are the burnt ends and smoked turkey. Nothing on the menu disappoints. The sides are great which is hard to find at a lot of DFW BBQ places. Good bbq requires good sides! My husband loves the loaded baked potato.
I really like this restaurant and highly recommend it. The barbecue is very tasty. They use Hickory would to smoke the meat. The deserts are excellent. Everybody working there was nice. The tables were clean. We walked away without overly smelling like a BBQ pit.
The Service was Excellent. The food was Great. We ate there. Very clean. Lots of Locals eating there.
I used to go there back in the late 60s when I was in high school. I love their barbecue it's the best baked potato I've ever put in my mouth. I still go there when I'm in town.
Really enjoyed the food and I’m pretty sure it was the owner or manager that was cutting up out meat but he was friendly and made some jokes. Very friendly staff.
From the first time l visited this place about 2 months ago till present l continue to come back and bring others to taste there barbecue they have the best brisket in the east Dallas area and I have tried a bunch. Outstanding sausage and great sides ever person that l have brought here rate this place a 4 stars
Very nice atmosphere. Small dinning area but clean and well kept. A lot of history in pictures on the walls. Nice staff. Spent $20 apiece for 2 meat lunches and drinks. Nice time.
Other than not smelling mesquite wood being burned? It was fantastic really good taste . Tater big enough to feed two.
