Best affordable real Mexican food around. Fast, attentive service and does not disappoint. Good parking area.
I ate at this restaurant long ago and did not find it to be all that I desired. But recently I had to go back due to a club meeting taking place there and found that the food had become much much better. The service was excellent as well and the atmosphere inside of this restaurant is very pleasant and family-centered. I suspect there is a change of management and ownership. Regardless, when it comes to eating the traditional Mexican plates, they do extremely well. I did not have the fajitas. But the tamales, rice, and beans were excellent!
My son loves this restaurant, so two days after his surgery all he wouldn’t eat anything, but finally requested to eat at Martinez. We normally order dinner, but I ordered lunch today. The food was a mess. There was cheese sauce, sour cream, and guacamole all over the container. I called to speak to the manager, and he was the rudest man on this side of Texas. He told me that this is normal for the lunch items. I told him that the cheese sauce is normally in a separate container, and he replied by saying oh no it is not. I told him I buy from here all the time, and I have never received my food this poorly. He never apologized and started screaming at me. I thought this restaurant was all about the customer experience. He never offered to replace or ask how he could have made this better for me or my some. I will not be returning.
Food was NOT good! It was under seasoned. Barley any food on the plate. I ordered chicken quesasilla and literally one strip of chicken cut up in tiny pieces and divided into three flour quesadillas. My husband orders fajitas and there was barley any food and the tortillas were way over cooked. We all have food poisoning as a result of the food. Needless to say, we won't be back.
It's been a number of years since we dined there last, we had considered it run of the mill. Wife and best friend Tom had not been a fan. We have been within walking distance from them since he first started out up the street on Kearney, where Tastebud Temptations is now. If I could put a finger on why we had quit going, I would have to say probably because they don't serve beer and Margaritas, or open on Sundays. How can you really have a great Mexican food experience without some good Mexican beers or Margaritas? I know that Mr. Martinez is a religious man and that is why. It is his business and within his rights. Obviously, a lot of people agree and patronize him. His plates are consistently good and his prices are reasonable. We sort of rediscovered him. I am glad because it makes finding a place to eat easier. I save on drinks too instead of paying $14.50 plus tip at Uncle Julios for a Margarita. They have always had great service. I can eat Mexican food several times a week, but wifey no. I look forward to trying some of the other plates soon.
I haven't been to Martinez in 25 years; it was great today as It was 25 years ago!! Great service and the food was awesome!! Thanks
Good food best there yet. I ordered the beef fajita nachos and they weren't over cooked. Server was excellent.
We love to eat at Martinez because the employees are so courteous and helpful. The building is always spacious and clean. Last but not least, the food is awesome!
Best spicy guiso! The refried beans actually taste great. Do not skip the homemade delicious tortillas!
