My wife and i have been regulars at Shogun for the past couple of years. It's a great restaurant. The food is consistently good and the service is excellent. We highly recommend Shogun. It's worth it! Rick & Traci
I'm a big fan of hibachi places. And normally my rule of thumb is 'if the fried rice is good, the rest of the food is normally pretty good'.. this place the rice was good. The meats not so much. Chicken tasted weird and so did the steak. Shrimp was alright. Also the service was very lacking. Not a single refill on my water. Had to ask twice for my appetizer to be brought out. And then I got my bill for 91$. Then they charged my card 98$. Needless to say that was their tip. The gyoysa was very good though!
Sushi is amazing and the hibachi was fun as always. We got 2 dishes of sushi that tasted fantastic. We only received one plate at first but when we asked for the 2nd the crew here were fast to correct the error. I was very happy with the service here.
Went here on Sunday, 2/6/22 for lunch for my two son's birthday's (40 and 18). It was my older son's choice; my husband, younger son, and I had never been, even though we live in McKinney. Wish we had discovered it a long time ago! The entire event was load of fun. Luckily, we were a party of eight, so we had the entire table to ourselves. Our hibachi chef was fantastic, very funny, very talented, very engaging. Interacted first with the two birthday boys, and then with my granddaughters and younger son, catching rice balls in their mouths! So the entertainment was great, but the food was the showstopper. Everyone ordered fried rice except my husband and I, we went with plain steamed, and regretted it. Not that it wasn't good, but the fried rice was cooked on the hibachi and looked and smelled delicious and I commented to my son that I should have gotten the fried. The chef overheard me, so after he had served everyone that ordered, he gave me a little bit of the fried to try. Very sweet of him! I ordered the lunch steak/chicken combo, my son next to me ordered the lunch chicken/shrimp combo. After cooking all the shrimp, however, the chef slipped me a shrimp to try, and likewise slipped my son a steak nugget. All in all, a great time was had by all. It's not a place you'd go to all the time, but for a special occasion, it's very special!
Great Dine In family experience for Anniversaries and Birthday celebrations. The chefs seem to magically cook the food in front of you. Japanese all the way tastes mighty tasty. Love the lighting and ambience which enhances your taste buds. Love to visit again.
Fun But it seemed like the waitress was distracted ordered sushi and didn't get it I've had to go to the bar to order our drinks. Teppenyaki ched was excellent. Steve was his name.

Best hibachi experience and the food is amazing.
We made a reservation ahead of time and I even called in earlier to confirm. When we got here, we were told the person taking reservations messed up and double booked. They told us our 7:00 reservation would be sat by 7:20. Even though people who have been waiting since 5:30 haven't been sat yet. I get that things happen, but it's Christmas Eve so it's impossible to just find somewhere else to eat. I'm beyond frustrated and disappointed in the awful customer service. We are frequent customers, but likely won't be after today!
