We went here last Thursday night. There were 4 of us sitting at a table with a round base underneath. The table was easy to move around if people were shifting around. My husband had an entree of elk. Two medallions came. One tasted good and the other was exceptionally tough. We did not want to say anything as this was the first time the other couple was there. The service was good. I felt the tables and chairs that were there last year were much more comfortable than the ones there now.

This is a great steak house in McKinney. The staff is very good and very knowledgeable. The food is very good though I admit I have been to better steak houses in DFW but this one is not far behind

I took my mom here for Mother’s Day lunch on Friday, May 6. The food is normally excellent in past dining experiences at Rick’s Chophouse. This dining experience was not. I had gotten food poisoning from the raw oysters and was sick until Sunday. My mom who is elderly has been sick from eating the crab dip. If we do return, we will never eat seafood here. Very disappointed with Rick’s seafood quality. Terrible dining experience celebrating Mother’s Day.

A prospective vendor took us to Rick’s in McKinney. This is an old school (classic) steakhouse, with lots of dark paneling and classic furniture. We were seated in a private room and attended by a server in a chef’s jacket. Was he a / the chef? I didn’t find out.We began with cocktails; I had a Hendricks & tonic (alas, no slice of cucumber) while our host opted for a Monkey 47 gin & tonic. I ordered a bottle of Belle Glos Las Alturas pinot noir. The first food order was the seafood tower, which they split onto two serving dishes and an order of escargot. The star of the show was the generous serving of king crab … I probably consumed the majority of the crab. Other items included shrimp, oysters and slices of seared sashimi. The escargot was fine, not quite enough garlic for me.My entrée was Elk Filets; it was served with mushrooms and green beans. The coloration of the elk was almost black but it was perfectly prepared and was tender, juicy and flavorful.Another ordered the 45-day dry aged NY Strip; I had a piece … nutty and rich in flavor, it was great! IMHO 45 days is the minimum needed to understand why some (like me) love dry aged meat.Others ordered the Sea Bass; it looked great and everyone was complimenting the food. The food prices are very reasonable and the wine prices are not out of line. Highly recommended!

Always amazing! Love the ambiance, food and drinks. BEST crabcakes around...mostly because I love the sauce! ❤ you Rick!

This place is amazing. Amanda, thank you for all that you did for my husband and I on our anniversary. It was greatly appreciated. Brad was a fantastic waiter, so personable and polite. Also a big shout out to the ladies in the front for setting us at a great table. I had the Elk and it was absolutely fantastic. The entire meal was great. Also was informed about the brunch and will definitely be making reservations for it.

Rick's Chophouse is warmly lit and relaxing, with service that makes you feel welcome and never rushed.A dining experience you will remember. The food is delicious, while keeping a good diverse menu for everyone. The escargot was one of the best I've ever had. The herb oil used gave hints of rosemary and other herbs while keeping a balance of tastes. The fillet mignon was full of flavor and melts in your mouth. The lobster was perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The prime rib was tender and juicy, melting in your mouth.

Decided to take my wife here for our anniversary dinner and they did not disappoint! The food was on point, the steak was perfect, and the dessert was spot on! Also the service was top notch I will definitely be back in the future!

My friends and I had a delightful dinner at Rick's. The menu offered so many interesting selections! The sea bass was perfectly prepared. The service was excellent. Brad, our server was knowledgeable, efficient, and friendly. Lauren and Mark visited to be sure that everything was to our liking. Rick's Chophouse is on our "go to" list and we are eager to return.

We live a fair distance away from McKinney but we’ve visited Rick’s Chophouse several times over the years for birthdays and anniversaries. From the elegant yet casual atmosphere, to the attentiveness of the staff, to (of course) the food itself, Rick’s is exceptional. We’ve visited for Saturday evening meals and we’ve visited for their Sunday Brunch. We’ve never had a bad experience. We will continue to visit Rick’s in the future and I often recommend Rick’s to others, confidently knowing that they won’t be disappointed.
