Great chicken fingers, love it!
Hit or miss would best describe this restaurant at this location. Sometimes it is OK and serves fresh, hot food. Other times... not so much. And the portions have been smaller - even before the pandemic. Honestly, all I can say is that I still occasionally go there if I want chicken tenders because the next closest is inconveniently too far.
4/5 Stars because of the recipe change. I went to this Cane's RELIGIOUSLY for a good four years. Some of the longest drive-thru lines I've ever seen, but I would do it anyway.Every 8 or 10 times they'd mess up my order, but I just learned to check it before I left. Every time there was a mistake they replaced my meal at no charge.I'm genuinely heartbroken over the changes to the Sandwich Combo—my beloved keiser roll, gone—but the fries and sauce are still phenomenal.
Usually an excellent meal, yesterday was disappointing. One order was wrong, extra bread, no slaw, cold fries tasted of old oil, bread also tasted of a dirty grill or oil that was aged and very used. Even got one of the drinks wrong. It was near closing, but we will be going tomorrow to see what they will do for us. The chicken and sauce were perfect... I go there usual one or twice a month and have never been disappointed before.
Was very happy with the atmosphere here at Canes. Very positive and upbeat even in the back of the house. The service was spot on!!! There was a very fast turn around from the time I ordered to the time I received my order. By the time I filled my drink the order was ready. The food was hot and fresh.. perfect!. I Would recommend that this be a repeat visit location.
This location frustrates me. Three years I have lived in McKinney. Eat Canes every month at least once. Several locations in the Dallas and Austin metro areas. But this location, no matter what, always forgets my extra sauce. They charge me for it. But they never give it to me. Always have to stop and check bag. Sometimes catch and go inside before leaving. Today, wife.just stopped by asked for it, was charged for it, reminded lady at drive thru when getting bag, but came home and still no extra sauce. What is the issue? In three years, has to be getting close to 20 times now. Every other location I have given four or five stars. This one....nope.
Interesting service with the girl who took my order and money. Didn’t know talking on the phone with headphones while working was a thing. She didn’t say anything to me at all besides what can I get you and say that again repeatedly and still got my order wrong while charging me incorrectly.
You will never receive the extra sauce you've ordered and paid for so here's the recipe to make your own.Ingredients1/2 cup mayonnaise1/4 cup ketchup1/2 teaspoon garlic salt1/4 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce1/2 teaspoon black pepperMix all ingredients together and refrigerate for 2 hours.
The drive through entrance coming in from the 75 feeder creates a weird pinch point when it’s busy. They go fast so it’s not terrible. The food is legit and I love that the choices are simple. Tenders.
As far as the food goes, canes easily earns 5 stars. However this location in particular should be much less for the layout alone. It is difficult to get in and out of, the parking lot is tiny and easily blocked by the drive through lane. If you are going at rush hour then it will be an extreme hassle to get in and out quickly.
