Amazing atmosphere and pizza! If it sounds good to you it probably is. The BBQ chicken and mushroom pie are both tasty!I was super excited to get the pretzels. They were sadly lackluster and tasted like crust. We dubbed them Crust Knots.We saw the salad and wings on other tables and they looked pretty top notch too! ?
The best pizza I've had, fantastic place.
The service and the food were great. We did order the Pacific Rim (if I remember correctly) and a burger. Both were really good. Definitely a place to visit again.
Definitely not the best flavor and taste of pizza. You can tell this place makes an attempt to put in effort but it's not that good. If you are in McKinney you can find way better pizza somewhere else.
I have to start by saying that I was seriously debating writing this review at all. The Single Star is regarding this visit and not previous. Alas, I really don't understand what happened to the Front Of House service crew, which is the primary reason for speaking out.The Call:I called in an order and spent 10 minutes explaining what the order was. Perhaps the gal taking my order was new, or perhaps she didn't know the menu, or maybe she was trying to be funny, but it ultimately was bothersome. Her lack of attention to the overall order was troubling.The Pickup:As I mentioned earlier, this was not my first time picking up here, and have always had the hostess find my order, collect everything into a bag, confirm it was correct, then cash me out. Upon arrival for my take-out order, I needed to interrupt the conversation between the two hosts to let them know I was picking up. Then, rather than the process I just mentioned, was met with a snide remark saying, "You have to go over there." It was such a slap-in-the-face to me, as though he was saying 'um...excuse me but I was talking and I don't care about you, can't you see that I'm busy!'Departure:Obviously picking up pizza isn't rocket science, but my order was about $50 for pizza and wings and I thought this would come with quality service. Mellow Mushroom's product is good, dining in is usually a treat, but this experience has left a negative impression that triggered my desire to look elsewhere next time we eat out.
Really fun place, service is good and I enjoy the food quite a bit. Prices run a bit high but the food quality is on point so it's a nice treat on occasion. There are lunch specials or happy hour deals in the afternoon, but they can be tough to pin down because the website is not clear about them. Would go 5 stars if the website were more complete or if the prices were a bit lower, but really good as is.
Pizza was great but wow, the service was absolutely terrible. First off we ate there at 4pm so it was not crowded at all. The waitress was nice at first but then completely messed up my order. I ordered one of specialty pizzas and they brought a completely different one. She asked if I could eat the one they made and I politely said “no”. They did get the next one out in about 15min, not bad. So when we were ready to get our bill, we could not find our waitress anywhere for the next 10-15 min. We finally flagged down the assistant manager and he looked and couldn’t find her either. He came back with our bill and said she was in a meeting with her manager. It would have been nice to know our server was no longer available. What if we wanted another drink or more food? We looked at the bill and they didn’t even offer a discount for messing up my order. My friend tried to ask the assistant manager about the order mess up and a possible discount. He said there was nothing he could do and was apologetic. Whatever. Plenty of other pizza places to eat that have much better service. Will definitely stick to Grimaldis right down the road.To the owner: you need to tell your wait staff to make sure and write down the orders. And if your server will be unavailable, they need to transition them to another server and inform the customer.
My biggest pet peeve is when servers don't pick up and clear the table. Especially when I basically do it for them, and make one organized pile of dishes right at the end of table (I was a server for 10 years, so I used to appreciate that).. But nope. She came by 3 more times and completely ignored the pile.
Love mellow mushroom! Great pizza, fun environment. This location had very young wait staff, which isn’t a problem, but they seemed a bit overwhelmed and slow to serve our table of 8. Took a long time to get us ranch, and other little things. But overall good experience.
Amazing! This was my first time here and I was not prepared for this pizza. This was, no exaggeration, the best pizza I’ve ever had. I’m almost 28 and I’ve eaten pizza at thousands of places including Germany, Paris, and Austria. This pizza is the best I ever had, hands down. I had the new BBQ pizza and the pork on it was perfectly cooked, the BBQ was fantastic, and everything else was on point. Also, Kyle is a great server, we liked him.I’ll be back here as soon as I can again!
