Older Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. Parking is adequate but might be an issue at busy times. This Jalapeno's has two other restaurant locations. It is not part of the national chain of restaurants with the same name. The large margaritas are huge (27oz) and were very good. The chips, salsa and queso we great. We really enjoyed our entries. Staff was attentive and polite. Prices are surprisingly inexpensive. Highly recommend.
Oh man. Where to start. First off, the place had horrible service. The waitress was kinda rude. And she took her time even coming to the table. Then the queso for the chips was obviously from a can. The beans tasted blah. The beef was tasteless, the chicken rubbery. The sour cream, which I ate a little of before realizing, was about to turn it appeared. It was lumpy and had an off taste. My wife couldn't finish her plate. Definitely not going back.
Love this place. We've been going here for a long time and to the other locations(Farmersville and Van Alstyne). Great food, affordable and relaxing. Some restaurants can be so loud and annoying. But this place reminds me of my family. They also cater which is awesome. This is definitely a usual spot for us. If you haven't tried it yet ur missing out.
I always say hole in the walls have the best food, but umm not this location. 1st off roaches in the bathroom, the small ones not the big ones, second I got the Shrimp Jalapeño very 1st meal on the menu. 1 the bacon was not cooked, 2 when they say Jalapeño it’s just a slice, a small slice when it should be whole, needless to say I sent my order back. Staff if your not hispanic don’t go, we got attitude from who I’m guessing was the owner.
We received pitiful service and mediocre food. (obvious canned chicken, which the surly waitress assured us was freshly cooked.) The "manager" was indifferent to our complaint and the waitress couldn't be bothered to refill our drinks OR chip bowl once. — the manager did not even care enough to speak to us in person. The waitress vanished halfway through our meal and didn't even bother to give us our check. The cashier said the service was sub par because they were so busy —At 2 in the afternoon??? What a bunch of nonsense!! Avoid this place!! — We sure will. When, and if I receive a belated apology, I will remove this review.
This place was great. Doesn't look like much on the outside, but is so nice inside! It smelled great as soon as I walked in, and the food itself was delicious. Best rice and beans I've had from any local places. Chips and salsa were yummy, even the next day (we got our food to go). Nice Horchata, could be a better. The green enchilada and the mexi tacos were the meals we got, they were fantastic, highhhhhly recommended ?.If you're considering this place, you'll be glad you gave it a try! Enjoy (:
Absolutely the most amazing service you can ask for, super friendly staff, hands down awesome food. Been coming back to this establishment for 19 years now and counting! Wish I could add more stars.
Really friendly I sat at the bar. Very kind young man waited on me. Food and house Margarita ?was very good.
Absolutely horrible. The salsa was so mild it tasted like there were no jalapeños at all in it. I ordered the all you can eat and started off with a taco and a cheese enchilada, and I specifically said no rice or beans. My taco and enchilada came out on a plate with rice and beans and before he set it down on the table he started blaming the kitchen and said they didn't listen to him. Well, if you see it's wrong, fix it before the guest sees it. Anyway, I said it's fine I'll still eat it. Then I ordered a top shelf margarita rocks with salt shaken with a fresh slice of jalapeño. He brought out a pre-mix margarita with pickled jalapeños on the side in an appetizer plate. So I told him I asked for a slice of fresh jalapeño shaken with my margarita. That pickled jalapeños are made with vinegar and that's nasty. He said they don't do that, which furthers my belief that there were no jalapeños in the salsa. So I refused the margarita and asked for a check. He could tell I wasn't pleased so he started blaming the kitchen again for the rice and beans LOL. He did only charge me a la carte for the taco and enchilada. I have family that swears its the best Mexican food and margaritas, but they're white trash and know no better. Take a hard pass
This place is great!!! The food was delicious when we went and the service was great! It was packed in there on a Saturday night. Even though it was a mad house our server was smiling and helpful. They also give you this delicious cheese dip with the free tortilla chips. My only complaint is that my kid and I went both given straws with holes in them and the walls could use a wipe down.
