The line was a bit long but definitely worth it. We got the family platter for 3 people, some leftover but really good amount of food. We got pork ribs, pulled pork, chopped brisket, and orig sausage - all delicious! Esp the pork ribs. My brother said “best potato salad he’s ever had”! Mac and cheese was good so was the cole slaw. Free dessert if you dine in, ice cream, vanilla pudding and peach cobbler - all delicious!
Awesome BBQ. I had the brisket, turkey, Mac and cheese, potato casserole & banana pudding. All great choices.Pro tip: Get the Texas twinkies. They are absolutely amazing.
This is the best smoked Beef Brisket within 40 miles. I first had lunch at Hutchins 20 years ago, this is my first time back. It's better than I remembered. The Brisket is fork tender. This place has plenty of indoor seating with a cool old time atmosphere, and a lot of really interesting old photos on the walls.The original BBQ sauce is very good, the Tangy sauce has a bite to it. I ordered three slices of Brisket, and it was exactly 1 pound. The pinto beans and green beans were good too!I was on my motorcycle so I had to eat it all! I couldn't take a "to-go” box with me. I didn't have room for the free desserts.
We ordered take out to enjoy at our AirBnB, and did we enjoy! The brisket was superb, great bark with fork tender meat. The pulled pork was good but had a cracked peppercorns throughout so it was a bit kick to it. The macaroni and cheese was good enough. The pinto beans were okay. The stand out side was the potato salad, very good. I didn’t have the sauce but those who did raved about it. My son who lives in Texas stated it was the best bbq outside of Austin!
I ordered the brisket, jalapeño cheddar sausage, Texas Twinkie, and Mac and cheese. The food was amazing. I haven’t had a bad experience here ever. The complementary dessert was fresh peach cobbler and ice cream was phenomenal. Definitely would recommend.
I now know why so many put Hutchins up there with all the other BBQ greats. I stopped by for lunch at noon on a Wednesday and was promptly greeted by someone near the door. The line was fairly short and went quickly. I order brisket and turkey and a texas twinkie I had heard some much about and some sides. On the way to get my drink and condiments for my meal I was greeted again by someone else and asked if I had everything I needed. Texas hospitality at its finest. The meal was amazing. The brisket was tender as was the turkey. The texas twinkie was cooked perfectly as well and filled with piles of meat. The sides were fantastic as well. I look forward to coming back and trying some other items.
Great barbecue, great service, and great value. We went there and there was already a line! However, they were very efficient and moved very quickly. We had the family pack, some "Texas Twinkies", and extra meat- ribs and brisket. The staff was extremely friendly and very attentive. They went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The portions were large and the Texas Twinkies were huge! The barbecue was extremely tasty and very moist, juicy, and tender. The sauces were delicious but the barbecue really didn't need the sauces! Can't wait to go back.
Meat prices have gone up everywhere and if course here is not the exception. Spent $90+ for 3 people. About $33 x lb.I wasn't blown away, my brisket was somewhat dried, but others in my party say they love this place and that it's the best BBQ place in the area.Free deserts - peach cobbler, soft serve ice cream, and the best banana pudding I've ever had. Went on a Saturday afternoon and not crowded at all, could be because of covid or the prices. There is a drive thru and that stayed pretty busy.
Real Texas BBQ. For eat in it is a la cart. Pay for your meat by the pound with a wide directions of sides including slaw, broccoli salad, green beans, baked beans, fries and more.This venue is both an experience and a delicious meal.So glad we chose this on our visit to McKinney, TX.
Really, the best BBQ in all of the DFW area and they have the awards to prove it! Year after year after year! Brisket that melts like butter, ribs where the meat falls off the bone, and the most amazing sides! If you love BBQ, you have to go!!!
