Our favorite ice cream parlor to go to. Tasty, awesome service even though they're always busy, efficiency is one of their best qualities :)
The staff are very sweet and helpful. The ice cream is delicious. They have some standard favorites, but also have several unique combos. I've tried pistachio, chocolate pecan, vanilla, and Graham Central Station. They were all tasty, but my favorite was Graham Central Station. The pecans and pistachios were a little soft, which I didn't care for. I like the nuts in the ice cream to be crunchy and fresh.
Great location, very clean lobby, with warm & welcoming staff.Based out of Ohio, there are 5 Handel's retail shops in the DFW region, including a shop in Plano, TX which is also the home of famous Henry's Homemade Ice Cream. If you want to taste-test both, head over to Plano!I have had Henry's, and it is very smooth & creamy, with high butter fat content.The staff at Handel's did not have those details, but I opine that Handel's is on same level as Henry's.First, I had a cup of Black Cherry ice cream, which was creamy, and loaded with quality cherries! Mmm mmm good!So, I had to try another. Pistachio! But I also asked for a sample of Egg Nog, which the server placed atop my pistachio.The Egg Nog was perfection! Very light nutmeg, not overpowering, with an eggy thickness like custard!But, I had to eat the Pistachio, that had a stash-full of nuts in it. This was a chewy bowl of good flavor.Great visit here, on El Dorado Pkwy, behind the Kroger Market.
Fresh, delicious, and enjoyable. My ONE question for all ice cream stores; Why is there no plain mint ice cream? Without chips, chunks, or flakes? Just a refreshing mint ice cream unadulterated by anything but its own creamy flavor.
Great ice cream! Great staff and I like the service. I like the cone handle. Everyone should do this. No brainer.
This has been our go-to place for ice cream over the past month or so. Very pleased with the variety and flavors!
The Butter Pecan ice cream was so so so delicious! It is very similar tasting to B&J Butter Pecan ice cream. The pecans have a very good taste. I am not sure of the farm the pecans come from but a really good rich taste.
Handels ice cream is probably one of the best ice cream businesses that I've been to. Their selection of flavors is quite large. Each one is well designed and extremely tasty. The staff are friendly and helpful. They even asked me if I'd like to sample some of the flavors. As they're all good I just picked two put it on a cone smiled all the way home.
Busy? Called ahead placed my order for a custom flavors box the girl on the phone tells me we are really busy right now. My response was great I’ll be there in 30 mins when arriving to the story no one there had an idea of the order but it was written up but no one processed it and I over heard the girl say “he said 30 mins” yeah which is exactly when I arrived so not only will I never call ahead again cause I don’t see a single adult here managing the communication skills apparently needs work
An ice cream store with creative flavors, made fresh daily, and super friendly staff. As a chain of about 70 locations thus was my first experience with Handel's and I was not disappointed. I had the chocoholic chip and mint chocolate chip. The first was rich and the chunks not too big to take away from the smooth texture. The same could be said for the mint, and that extra cool mint gives was perfect for a hot summer night.
