My steak was asked to be medium rare and came out extremely rare. When i asked it to be brought to temperature it was simply re-heated. While I can deal with a rare steak, some fundamentals in steak cooking were missed. It was still tough and have white lines of sinew because it wasn’t exposed to heat properly exposing that the steak wasn’t just rare l, it was undercooked. The sides were nothing special. H‑E‑B style Mac and cheese and plain asparagus. For those who any interest in wine be prepared to pay way over price for the bottles they provide. A 29 bottle of wine will cost 80-90 dollars at this location. 200 percent increase for middle/bottom shelf wine isn’t something I’m into. To be clear here I love a good meal and will pay for it. I have no problem paying for a meal I really feel I can’t get anywhere else, but I truly felt like I’m paying for the owner to cover the lease on the location than food that is exquisite. For a place that is a steak house I was extremly disappointed. I am a big believer in paying for what you want, but an undercooked steak, basic sides, overpriced wine, left me wanting more. If you’re a “foody” and understand what a well balanced and delicious meal is then you will be left wanting more from this place. Ultimately our region has limited private “high end” restaurants and it appears that all of them in the McAllen area are taking advantage of the lack of competition by giving lack luster food and extremely high prices. If I ever decide to give them another chance I hope they read this and know that they can do better. In the hospitality business you owe it to your customer and there hard earned money they are willing to spend at your location. Do better Prime. Do better RGV restauranteurs.

We had a wonderful date night! The service was absolutely incredible and the food was beyond excellent! We agreed this is our new date night go to!

I don't mind spending money on a good meal. So, I wanted a good steak and this place popped up. I don't like at prices, as this tends to turn away customers. I ordered a NY Strip, grilled shrimp with a baked potato. It took a while and when the meal was ready it for 5 minutes until the waiter picked it up. Did I say I was the only customer? The steak was average at best, the shrimp were good but the baked potato came in a pool of a spicy concoction, nobody mentioned this. Turns out I just don't like spicy food. So, my $7 baked potato was edible. I removed it from the pooled plate and the waiter simply removed the plate, didn't ask if everything was OK. At the end of the day, if I am paying top dollar I would like a meal to represent. So sorry, this was short and nobody cared. That's my experience.

Birthday Party. We ordered steaks, Pizza, salad, ceviche, pasta, mashed potatoes, cream spinach and asparagus! Everything was great until we got 2 of our steaks and one was a little to tuff. We told the waiter. The waiter took it back and brought us a fresh steak. It was wonderful!! We had a wonderful experience. We will be back!! Four of the 6 people had not been to Prime before.

Prime is a really high end restaurant trying to be a sports bar. With TVs on either side of the bar it raises the noise level to where my Wife and I had trouble conversing. They should scrap the TVs and focus on their great food and service. Appetizers were meals in themselves. Aged steaks, lamb, lobster Thermador to die for. Bar has extensive selections including Wellers bourbon and 30 year old McAllen Scotch. Great place to go for that special occasion.

Our server was so polite and very helpful. It was our first time and we loved everything about our experience!

Matthew B was our waiter and did an absolutely outstanding job serving us! Ambiance was perfect, and the food was terrific. Very good place to go for a special occasion.

The country music play list is killing the ambience.

Outstanding food! This place just became my favorite. Chef is superb! A must for a special occasion! Great atmosphere.

I ordered the Beef Wellington and ordered it medium rare and came medium well. The mashed potatoes had no seasoning, the best bite on the plate were the broccolini. The temperature in the dining room was very warm and uncomfortable. Overall, I expected a better dining experience especially for the price. Food totally lacked flavor and seasoning. I’ll just stick to my favorite Bohanans in San Antonio. Don’t waist your money.
