The food was delicious especially the shrimp! The only reason I did not rate this place a 5 star was because, if you did not order an appetizer you would have to wait for your food to arrive. It would have been great had they brought out some complimentary bread or something of that nature just like the bigger restaurants do. Other than that it was great.
10/10!! The shrimp scampi was tasty & well portioned. Their garlic bread is very well paired with their marinara. Not the biggest fan of how thick their calamari is, but it still tasted great. Their pizza is also great! Good amount of toppings & a lovely amount of cheese. Husband had the spaghetti bianco with chicken & loved it! The environment is also great. Prefer outside seating. Staff is very welcoming.
No hostess was available, I walked up to a server and asked about seating. No mention from server that they had busy or long wait times which would have been nice to know. Waited 1 hour exactly for our food to come out. Asked for appetizer after 30 minutes I was notified they were out of that item. Table next to me was worse. Poor lady ordered just so that 30 minutes later they tell her they ran out of that item, she orders something else and then about 15 minutes later they tell her they are out, she has to choose something else. I felt soo bad for her the service was awful or maybe they are just super short handed. Im a patient person I feel like they could just tell you they have long wait times and leave the decision up to you if you feel like waiting that long. People were waiting for tables for about 35 minutes then another hour for food.
I don't know if I can adequately say how delicious the pasta is here. My wife and I loved every bite. Everything tasted made from scratch and the portion sizes were perfect. Well worth the price. The only concession is there was a little too much time between being attended by the wait staff and getting drunk refills or orders taken. But I don't fault this on the wait staff themselves but on the fact that it was a very busy night and that either they were short a staff member or need to hire another waiter. When attending to us, the waiter was great, our orders accurate and joked around with us. So our minor grip is completely minor and in no way diminishes the great meal we had.
Horrible food. We had the calamari for appetizer, and it was overcooked. My husband had the lasagna, and it tasted bland. I had the chicken parm, and it was a really small piece of chicken, for $15, ridiculous. All the food tasted like frozen food. Nothing had enough flavor. The marinara sauce, which I'm sure it's the same one that they use for everything else; taste straight out of a can. Prego Italian Sauce tastes better! My 2-year-old had the kids' pizza, and the dough was definitely frozen as well! We had high hopes for this place because of its reputation, and we're really disappointed. We're big-time foodies, and we've also both worked in the food industry, so we can tell and taste when something is fresh. One thing we've noticed since we moved to the RGV is that people from the RGV have no idea what good food is. Mama Mia's Pizzeria on bus. 83 is wayyy better!
Pizza tasted really good. We got the Chicago style deep dish. Buuttttt it was warm in the middle and hot in the crust area. My sister got a cheese pizza and loved it.
Here is the deal...i rated this place 3 stars but it was 3 stars on how friendly the staff(honestly, the staff was 5 stars friendly) only because i could not secure a table...this place was packed! I look forward to eating here soon and providing an honest opinion. Keep in mind that this place does offer both inside and outside dining( my party did not want to sit outside) so we dined elsewhere. I will be back here soon and provide an honest opinion on the food and service. Stay tuned!
I always enjoy the food here, but the service on my last visit was foul. We waited thirty minutes for our appetizer that never came, waitress never checked on us until she brought us out our food. I asked about our appetizer and she said, “you never ordered an appetizer” until I reminded her what we ordered and she said “oh yeah I remember.” The appetizer came out when we finished our food but we didn’t want it anymore as we already ate our meals.Would’ve rated higher, but today I was talking to my coworker about our experience and he asked if it was, “the skinny white waitress” (yes). I was informed that the waitress doesn’t like other girls, as she’s usually very attentive to him but is always rude to his girlfriend.I had assumed maybe our waitress was having a bad day, but I don’t think as such anymore as this seems to be repeating behavior that other people have experienced and recognize.Hope she can get over her internalized misogyny or whatever she has a problem with, as girls eat out and have money to spend too.
Don’t go to that restaurant!! The staff and manager were so rude!!! I had called during the week to reserve for the weekend and was told to get there early to reserve. So we get there early and was told that they couldn’t reserve for 20 people. I told the staff it was okay that we could be in separate tables, but they continue to say they couldn’t. So we left the restaurant. Then I called to speak to the manager and she tells me right away the worker“assume” without even hearing my side of the story. I told her never mind we won’t be going there again and hang up. She calls me back which my husband answers and then she tells my husband stuff hangs up on him. Wow! You are a manager, being rude and hanging up on people! I will NEVER recommend anyone to go to this horrible restaurant. Horrible and rude staff. NEVER AGAIN!!
