Omg… I love when a restaurant leaves me speechless. This food is soooo authentic. They are very friendly. We ordered pollo and carne tacos & a torta. Best torta hands down and the tacos are ridiculously good. We went back and ordered more for our drive back to houston. Now I really need to brush up on my Spanish lol, they didn’t speak English but they were so friendly as I mustered through my order lol. So delicious and has a family feel. I cannot wait to get back here. Don’t consider any other place, come here now!
I am vegetarian and they fed me well with tacos, tostadas and a sandwich. It's not a fancy place at all but the customer service at Rocas was outstanding. My three daughters loved it too and the oldest wants to come back for her birthday. The 5 star rating makes sense.

My friend recently showed me this place. We always like to get Tortas. This by far has been the best experience yet! The torta was so warm and light! It was so delicious! They also have the freshest aguas frescas! The first time I went I drank 2! Sandia and Melon! Superb!This place is so clean! So clean! I felt very safe eating there! And believe me, since the whole Covid started we havent been out to restaurants much.I took my son here to eat because I wanted to share a piece of history! They are located in the heart of McAllen. Oh, he enjoyed it so much too! The food was so scrumptious! Can't wait to bring my mom and other friends here!PS. I forgot to take a picture in the beginning. Best Tortas in the RGV! We've been going there for 30 years now and the the food has not changed. Still the same owners and the same cook. They serve really good aguas frescas, my personal favorite is Agua de Piña ?. I highly recommend this restaurant.
The food here is good, but I do think it's kind of pricey. There are no combos or sides that accompany any entrees on the menu. All items are sold separately. Nevertheless we decided to give it a try. We decided to try out the torta de carne and two corn tacos of carne as well. The torta was loaded with shredded beef, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, and a side of hot salsa. It was also cut in half. The tacos each came with 2 yellow corn tortillas filled with shredded beef, diced onions, cilantro, and a side of hot sauce. Both entrees were perfectly cooked and seasoned well. The aguas de tamarindo and jamaica were super delicious. The older gentleman who took our order came to our table every now and then to check up on us. I will say he is friendly and is good at remembering the names of his customers very well. He mentioned some of our coworkers had just left after he saw our name badges. When I asked who were they, he immediately gave us their names. I also noticed that other customers there were repeat customers of the restaurant, which is a good sign that the food and customer service provided there is great.

Every time we go the food is amazing. Great quiet spot with delicious food. The owners are so friendly and outgoing. We have been going for over 20 years and it's our comfort food when shopping Downtown.
Tucked away in downtown McAllen, but worth the visit. The enchiladas are my go-to. They are legit spicy. Don't even try to mess with the level of spicy. I've never been disappointed. Don't forget a licuado for the road. The older gentleman will treat you like family. He's the sweetest viejito.
