I had a bad experience at this restaurant, first the server forgot to place my table order and I had to wait over an hour to get my food for me and my family. Second: the omelette I ordered, the egg wasn’t cooked properly I could still see the yoke and I let my server know she told me that I should have ordered the omelette fully cooked, in my opinion an egg is never half way cooked or under cooked it should be cooked fully to ensure the customer doesn’t get sick. I asked the server if I could have another omelette to take home, I didn’t get another omelette I only got the half cooked omelette placed in a to go box. I would not recommend this place to anyone. It probably was just my experience but it left a bad first impression.
Terrible experience. Overcrowded and understaffed. 42 minutes wait for the food to arrive cold and on dirty plates. The waiter was courteous and friendly. But that was about the only good thing about the whole experience. The only fresh thing on my order were the tortillas, FRESH OUT OF THE MICROWAVE!COME ON, IF I WANTED MICROWAVED TORTILLAS, I WOULD'VE STAYED WITH MY EX!
On the morning of the 27th of April this establishment "Country Omelette" allowed a homeless man to dine-in.There is a reason why these people are homeless. Luck or miss opportunities in life have nothing to do with their present way of life -if that was the case 99% of the United States population would be homeless living out of backpack or grocery cart. This homeless man attempted to attack a patron who was enjoying a peaceful breakfast with his wife. We all ran....Ran out of the Country Omelette in full panic and fearing for our lives when this "POOR INOFFENSIVE HOMELESS MAN" with a hunting knife started heading into the crowd with knife at hand.Country Omelette .....SHAME ON YOU!Again, there is a reason why these people are away from their homes and their love ones. These people, they don't care about no one, not even themselves.¿Why pay for their meals? or ¿Why even support their lifestyle? This could have easily been another mass killing. This time with a hunting knife.Oh, by the way, McAllen Police confiscated not only the hunting knife but also an assault rife out of the backpack of this "poor inoffensive hungry homeless man"......Yeah Right.
Delicious food! Husband wanted to visit there multiple times while visiting family! Enjoyed the flautas and he enjoyed enchilada dinner. Mom had great meal as well!! Definitely worth the visit. Great service
Great restaurant that lives up to its name. Great breakfast of pancakes, eggs, bacon, and well couldn't leave out the biscuit and sausage gravy. Great service; the staff was pleasant and happy. Great to see during these times.
Oh My! Why did I wait so long to try it! I always saw the this place packed in the parking lot. Husband and I recently went to try this place and we were so pleasantly surprised. The moment you open the door you are greeted by the fresh aroma of non stop coffee! They are open at 6AM! The prices are good. The portions are good! Oh, I am taking my whole family here for breakfast during Christmas break! RGV, dont wait years to try this local gem!
Best breakfast country I’ve had in McAllen and I’ve been here 4 months! I do like non-dairy substitute, something not offered, overall it was definitely the best breakfast. Eggs were not greasy, Belgian waffle cooked to perfection, blueberries looked freshly picked and bacon was thick and crispy.
Visited for breakfast 3 consecutive days while birding in the lower Valley; twice between 7:30-8 am and once right at opening, 6 am. Food was very good to excellent all visits, two caveats, grits too runny for my taste and my companion thought the potatoes blah. Get grilled biscuits, or hash, instead, with a "Country Omelet" or fluffy scrambled eggs. Prices very reasonable. Service, at the two later times, was outstanding, fast, informative, and attentive, despite a crowd of locals eating fairly leisurely. Surprisingly, service was slower at opening, though almost empty, staff seemed more interested in setting up and gossiping with each other than moving swiftly to take our order. Still, I'd eat there again without hesitation. Very good food and value and if early, tell the waiter you are on a schedule, not interested in a leisurely breakfast like their usual crowd.
Food was just OK but the value was pretty bad. I left full of pretty unremarkable breakfast foods but the bill was a bit higher than the quality and quantity would suggest. The service, however, was bad. The waiter was visibly irritated, sarcastic, curt and hurried. He forgot multiple parts of the order and kept having to return to the kitchen for the missing portions.I genuinely understand that food service is a stressful and thankless job, having done years of it myself. That said, there's really no excuse for a cruddy attitude.
The food was Amazing and Enrique the Waiter was very well Customer service / waiter trained. And Very clean. Atmosphere was excellent.
