Visiting from Colorado .I was needing to get Texas Fajita fix !And this place did not disappoint.It was so delicious ,The beans were so delicious .The ambiance to this place is really nice .They even have an area where you can have a small gathering to have a party / celebration.The waiters are all attentive.I recommend this place !

Awwww maan! Had a great time here the other night. I had cocktails at the bar, the bartenders were super cool. The front of house were busy but very friendly and the wait staff were pros, friendly and their service was on point! I had the fajita nachos and the fajitas were flavorful and tender, and the entire dish was outstanding. Check them out!
Good TexMex food always hits the spot. This restaurant is big with a restaurant and lounge area. Our waiter was nice and efficient. Food tasted great. Love the multicolored chips and various salsas.
Love the red salsa flavor, the other two were ok but my favorite was the red one. the soup they brought for the wait was good had great flavor. we choose the Botana platter both with chick and beef it was delicious my husband loved it
The first place I go to when I'm in McAllen is Costa Messa! The botanas are only found throughout the RGV and Costa Messa's are the best.
We were a party of 8 (6 adults and 2 children) visiting the Costa Messa South location. The service was very slow even though there were several empty tables. I had to ask 3x for chip and salsa refills before that finally happened. Our waiter Jose took a long time to come around and never asked if I wanted a refill on my soft drink. However, when he presented me with the check it was an automatic 18% tip (they call it a service charge). This was due to our party size. He did mention that if I wanted to give him a tip as well that was available too. He initially couldn’t explain why our check was so big when I asked why my soft drink was over $14 on top of my and my wife’s shared entree. He finally figured it out that it was the additional 18% service charge. The service was terrible and I shouldn’t be forced to pay 18% when he wasn’t even worth 10% based on his service. It was clear that he was a trainee. I don’t like being forced to pay a tip for service that was subpar and unacceptable. Be careful. I’m requesting a full refund and will post results once determined.
Wonderful atmosphere and service was phenomenal! Food was plentiful and cozy was reasonable. Definitely would go back again for the Botana Platter! We had the 4 person and could have fed 6 easily.
I took my wife for lunch at Costa Mesa, located on 10th St.a couple of blocks South of Dove in McAllen. Once we were seated we were immediately treated to chips and salsa. They give you three completely different salsas, toasted flour tortillas and corn tortilla chips to dip. My wife ordered her go-to dish, the one she almost always orders at every Tex-Mex restaurant we go to, the enchiladas Suizas. I finished the guacamole that we ordered as an appetizer as my meal. I had a big breakfast and wasn't that hungry, but I had already promised my wife Id take her out to lunch on my day off. She really liked the enchiladas that were served with the traditional rice and refried beans. I tried a bite and agree that they were on point, the tomitillo sauce was really good. It was our first time going here and we will definitely be going back. P.S. I forgot to shoot a pic of the enchiladas.
The service is excellent but the food really lacks. To be fair, I had the Mexican Plate which is a ground beef taco, a tostada, two cheese enchiladas with rice and beans. I wanted to try a basic dish that hardly anyone can mess up and this plate disappointed. They use blah tasting red tortillas for the taco and tostada which is just done for looks and the taco had hardly any flavor. The enchiladas were also very basic and what can you say about rice and beans, they were the same as you can get anywhere in town. In general, this is mexican food that you can get in a cafeteria like Golden Corral. I can cook this same plate at home and it'll be way better than what I got here at C Messa.
