I enjoyed lunch at Mama Angie’s today and have already suggested to others to try this place. I thought the chips and salsa were better than most, and I can say the same for the taco salad. Large portions and reasonable prices. I was looking for a place quiet enough to have a conversation over lunch, and Mama Angie’s passed that test. I’m a fan. Wish I had tried it sooner. I will be back.
Went on a Saturday right at opening. Service was great! We had the red tacos. They were filling, had beans, meat and cheese. I ordered 3 thinking they would be small but I could only eat 1 1/2. Seemed a tad bland though. The chips were great and the salsa spicy! The charro beans were the best I've ever had in a restaurant. I plan to go back to try other dishes and look forward to it.
I was so excited to go check this place out! Got there and apparently they were understaffed which I get but the service they had was horrible. Couldn't sit where the live music was even though there were empty tables. Couldn't sit at the bar. Couldn't even walk around and check the place out. Zero manners, zero care given by staff. And I already had seen mixed reviews about the food. So, there is no reason to ever give them my business.
Have loved going here in the past. Tonight's dinner was terrible... Fajitas were burnt to hell and refried beans were crusty. Meat was absolutely flavorless and queso was lumpy and thick. Spoke to the manager who said they were getting feedback that food needed improvement and she would take care of it. She literally brought us a ticket for full price .... Food was so bad we didn't even take anything home
Took over an hour to get our food. Talked to the general manager Miranda and she was very rude. There was three tables in our area and all complained to the manager and you could tell she could care less!!!!!!
With a place that looks this cool it should be busy like fat daddy's down the road. But the queso tasted and looked like cold watered down sour cream. The beef tacos were akin to a 3 day old hamburger patty shoved into a shell. The rice was crumbly and dry. Ended up getting the meal comp'd. I feel bad for the staff having to bear the brunt of a bad kitchen and poor patronage. Also, their photos on here are stock internet pictures. You can google image search their photos and find them elsewhere.
I would not recommend large events here. We went here for our after funeral dinner for my grandmother. We set up the event a week ahead of time, told them how many guest we would have and they were completely fine with it. They told us they could do the party and it would be fine, we decided to do fajitas family style. It was a pretty difficult situation for the family so we really wanted to make sure it would be okay. When we arrived they had 1 server for the entire party, about 50 people. It took over an hour to get the food for the buffet. Then we immediately ran out of food (about 20 people had gotten food) and never got anymore until we finally walked to the kitchen and asked for it. Drinks were very hard to get, everyone had empty drinks most of the event. Eventually we finally just asked her to bring pitchers out since there was only one server for all the people. They said the reason it was so bad was because there was only 1 Cook, and the manager told us their restaurant wasn't able to accommodate a party of this size. So I guess once they booked the party and got the money they decided it was good enough. It was a totally unacceptable event, especially since it was not a walk in party but something we booked ahead of time, and being that it was after a funeral I would hope they would ensure it went well. They really seemed to not care, the attitude from everyone there was pretty dismissive. Hopefully in the future they take into account people's personal situations and care a little more about large events they may book.
The staff was friendly. It wasn’t crowded the whole time we were there and we still had to wait close to an hour until we received our food. People who got there after us were receiving their food before us. I honestly think they forgot about our party of 4. We ordered queso and honestly it was more of a white “gravy” type of taste/texture. Husband ordered fajitas and got like 6 thin/short strips of meat and the rest were veggies (dinner hours). Honestly, the only thing that I genuinely enjoyed was my ice cold Coke. Lol But the host and waiter were friendly so they get a 1 star. I wish their food tasted as good as their building looks. Best wishes to them.
Came in for lunch and really enjoyed the experience. The staff was nice and quick. There weren't many people in there but that is when you should be the quickest and they were on point. I can't speak for all the food, but I enjoyed the chips and salsa as well as the enchiladas I ordered. Large portions and priced fairly. I would come back again for sure!
The hostess/waitress saved this place from a one star...Food = 1 starThe lady who was very sweet and honest with us did the best she could.Regarding the food...I LOVE MEXICAN FOOD... it is rare for me not to like Mexican food. What was good:The beans and the guacamoleWhat was bad:I love chips and salsa... This was the weakest salsa I have ever tasted hardly and flavor at all and that was like a week sweet tea.I always get a second helping of slasa... I only took a few bites of thisThe steak fajitas were 6 thin strips of meat for $18 pre tax and tip $26 after ... And again I asked the waitress if they normally use any seasoning... Not even salt or pepper let alone any lime or normal fajita seasonings.Extremely BlandThat's the best word I can come up with...BLANDVERY DISAPPOINTING ... And sad as I really wanted to leave a five star...
