Its a great place to get your carnitas fix, they have chicharron con carne all chopped right there when you place your order.
Food was not very good. Chicken was mostly fat and gristle. And mostly dark meat.. not clean white meat.. Staff were unattentive. Not one of them smiled. They all looked mad, sad or annoyed. I would not recommend. There is way better food and atmosphere elsewhere.
First time here and I enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Limited seats to dine in but food is fresh and all homemade.Clean place and price is reasonable..well worth giving a try ..
I'm gonna give you the Big Boy/Gordito review. No pizzazz=no "smells from the kitchen " as soon as you walk in(the place is small). A smiling face goes a long way. :/ lady wasn't here mentally. We picked up our food at the pick up area. And that lady looked like she was I. The same boat with the other one. Right if the bat the menudo did t have and hominy!!Bolitas...Bolinas.... I wrap up my tortilla. Scoop up up teaspoon full and wait here itcomes.........NADA... NI MAIZ BLANCO. Makes me want to open up my own spot. Don't waste the trip and a meal. Thus ones at the booth of the list.
We're new to the area and drove by this place a few times. Finally decided to stop on Sunday 12-5-21. Have you ever ate somewhere and you were instantly mad because you spent your money on food that was . Well, not worth it at all? that's this place. My husband and I ordered one barbacoa burrito & the carne con papas (I forgot what they actually called the plate) and 2 menudos to go. We ate the barbacoa burrito and carne con papas there at the store. Which btw is super small inside. The barbacoa tasted alot like roast beef. And the carne con papas had a little spice to it but that's it. Both entrees left alot to be desired. Now to the menudo. That menudo was by far THE WORST menudo I've ever tasted. We tried eating it for dinner, we couldn't even choke it down. The taste was horrible! If I were you, and you're craving authentic Mexican food, drive down the road a bit and stop at carnitas michoacan (next to dq) .. they have great tasting menudo and their torta w/carnitas is delicious!
Go there at 11 AM, no place better. Any later and they will be out of the good stuff
I just moved to the area a few weeks back. I thought I'd try this place out because I was craving carnitas. I pull up around 7:40 on a Saturday night. I'm not greeted but glared at, as i walk in. She begins to tell me they are out of every meat except carnitas. I told her it was fine and i would like to order 6 tacos. Honestly to me she seemed kind of annoyed with preparing my food. As she was preparing it i double checked the hours of this place. I wanted to make sure I wasn't here right before closing time but 20 mins before definitely seems reasonable. Anyways, the food was good but i hope they work on there customer service. Maybe she was having a bad day or wanted to go home but at least treat your customers like they are welcome.
For my own personal preference, the food is ok. When I eat Mexican food, it is not only about the main dish, but also the taste of the side dishes. Their spice of the food, it was good, not over powering, yet spicy. Had the chicharron and the meat was tough. Didn't care much for the beans or the rice, which means I didn't clean the food off my plate. Also purchased a chile relleno and that was good, even a day later.
