Great family owned restaurant. The owner's quite the character and keeps her staff (and sometimes patrons) in line!Great food, decent prices.
Kitty's Cafe is a true, Texas Country Cafe. And I love it. You will hear the true Texas draw.Located in Magnolia, Texas which is a wonderful Texas country community where people look out after each other.I went to dine at Kitty's Cafe at noon on Monday, May 23rd.The place was hopping busy and the wait staff was moving like they had roller skates on. And as busy as they were, everything went smoothly. For lunch you can order off the menu, or select from the steam table 1 meat with Salad bar, two sides and a slice of cake for dessert, OR 1 meat with three sides and cake. All with a slice of country cornbread.Friends, the cornbread tasted like cake. Soft and sweetMy meal of meatloaf, sweet potato casserole and steamed broccoli.Prepared perfectly, to a traditional Texas taste. Thanks, Kitty's Cafe in Magnolia, Texas. If you have a question or comment please message me.And this review with your friends.
This is the third problem I have had at Kitty's and it's always service related. Yesterday went in, finally got some service by a very overly round 19 year old waitress that took my order and then decided to go on break. I see people around me that came in after me getting their food. So I asked this other waitress where mine was, the waitress, and she said she went on brake. I should have just walked then but I'm older with more patience and realize all these service places have bottom of the barrel help these days. A couple of months ago my buddy and I were in there and he ordered the two taco breakfast plate. One taco with bacon and one with sausage. The bill came and was for two dollars more because they said he had got bacon and sausage on both tacos which he did not. The manager even refused to change the bill even after showing her a picture of a previous bill for the exact same order. Oh and she's another older very rotund waitress. Then about four months ago I go into Kitty's and sit and sit and sit, again showing great patience, and finally the older also and yet still again, rotund, waitress comes over and says have you been helped. I said well there's no glass or cup on the table, there's no menu on the table and there is no set-up, fork, knife, napkin, on the table so the obvious answer is no I have not been helped. The waitresses there are the worst but I must say the food is damn good because you have to be wondering why I would ever return. Well Sunday is chicken and dumplings special and I really like that. Unfortunately I won't be back and that makes me sad. Think I'll wait a year then test them again. Hopefully there will be 100% turnover with regards to the rotund/round personnel.
It was our first time here ( my wife and I)and I have nothing but good things to say about Kitty's Cafe.It was very good and attentive service, plus the breakfast was good.I am an Airline pilot and have traveled and visited good and bad "Mom and Pop " restaurants, but Kitty's Cafe has left a lasting impression on my wife and I.....We will definitely be going back to this cute cafe.
I got the shrimp basket and it was good, none of the shrimp were deveined & that was a bit of a turn off. My husband got monster club and liked it a lot, father in law got the steak fingers and liked them a lot too. Just wish the shrimp's intestinal tract had been taken out.
Had breakfast this morning and was NOT disappointed. The best breakfast I’ve had in ages, and I’m a breakfast Person. The best biscuits I’ve ever had, light, fluffy and not gummy at all. Got the low down on the weekly specials and will be back for lunch. Added the lunch menu
Our first time visiting this restaurant. Was very impressed with the food and the service. Went at an off time, but our waitress said they are very busy at peek times. We had breakfast, which was very delicious. Only complaint is the home fries were cut to big, and some of them were slightly undercooked... Will definitely be returning to try more dishes...
Country cooking, hometown goodness, really nice people! This is the place if you’re looking for something away from franchise food. Like we’ve been missing for too long. Awesome biscuits and gravy like you never had before, pancakes as big as a hubcap, great coffee, and grits! Eat here or just go on and miss out on some great food!!
Such a wonderful classic good ol Texas restaurant. Large portions cooked just the way you like it. Fresh, tasty and oh so good. The wait staff are so sweet and accommodating. My go to Chicken Fried Steak was the best I've had, true home made gravy, with Texas toast to sop up the last bit. If you haven't been to Miss Kitty's you need to get there.
Absolutely terrible service, pretty sure they forgot to give our ticket to the cooks. We were in there for an hour and a half waiting on our food before we left. We were told multiple times our food was "almost done" and that definitely was a lie. We had a party of 6 and the restaurant was not busy at all. Other tables were getting there food, finishing and leaving while we were still waiting. When we left there were only 2 tables of people in the restaurant. I wish they would have been honest and just said they forgot to put our ticket in, we definitely won't be back.
