Every time my husband and I ate in Lubbock we eat at Funky Door. We love the atmosphere and the food. This time we drank glasses of wine and shared the charcuterie board. Delish! Our server was very attentive to getting us the food we wanted. We highly recommend this restaurant!
Normally, I love going to this restaurant. However, this past Sunday we waited an hour for our food. The excuse we were given was that it was a new menu. I would disagree as it looked the same. Food was very good once it arrived after we waited an hour. I would still go back, but would like to have been told initially food service at brunch would be slow.
Such a great restaurant! Wonderful Good and excellent service! We highly recommend! Ron and Vanessa Griffin Midland, Tx
Although the Funky Door has a wonderful ambiance and delicious food, the live music with singing was very loud. The intimate atmosphere calls for quieter, perhaps jazzier, music where patrons can eat and visit. We had a group of 7 and the gentleman on one side of the table struggled to hear all the conversation taking place at the other side of the table. We were anxious to leave simply because it was so loud.
Was recommended here by two separate friends and this place didnât disappoint. Great date spot and the fondue was excellent. Had the Fiesta and the Dark Chocolate Fondues highly recommend!
Great atmosphere, great service, great food, and great Live Music.
Fast and kind service. We were impressed with every staff member, who was on task and in-sync. The space is dynamic and welcoming. We have enjoyed our recent visits to The Funky Door. Food was delivered to our table hot and ready to go. Steak was red instead of pink. They stay while you cut into the edge, but the center of a steak is the key. The Bourbon Pecan Chicken was not as listed on the menu and is, instead, a fried breast with a heavy gravy of pecans and too much sugar. Great potatoes and veggies and salads and, as always, the best drinks in town.
Great wine, cocktail and food choices. Employees were very friendly and professional. We enjoyed it so much next we go weâre going to bring our husbands.
Food was just OK and way overpriced. Steaks charred but rare inside. Risotto was super salty and basically not edible. Charcuterie was ok but again super overpriced for what you get. They sat us by their patio door which staff kept opening even though it was 100 degrees and there was no one out there! Probably wonât be back. Bummer because this was our second time after a wonderful first experience but I guess it was a fluke.
The food is amazing at Funky Door, as well as their wines! And the entertainment is even better.. On Monday evenings they feature Will Banister…Probably the best country voice in West Texas and East even New Mexico!
