If you want some excellent fried fish this is the place to eat. Hush puppies, sugar rolls ( not sure name correct) chicken strips (good size) fish nuggets ( good size) are all mouth watering delicious. Went on a Friday night with family of 4 got the 22-24 piece family meal deal paid around $40-44 dollars WORTH IT plenty for everyone and left overs. They also had live music that night. Great customer service. THE PHOTO OF THE FOOD IS ONLY HALF OF THE FAMILY MEAL I MENTIONED
I'll lead off with the bad considering they have fish in the title. The five piece fish dinner is not what a fish lover would expect. The five pieces were sliced off one half of a fillet in the size of a silver dollar and a tad thicker, never have I got so little fish for 13 dollars. But to be fair shrimp dinner was very good and great value, bacon burger was good as well, chicken livers were the best thing we ordered. Fried pickles were stunning. But if your after fried catfish ya better look somewhere else! Again everything else was good and worth the money!
I order to go when craving catfish and chicken bits! Love the gravey! My meal was packaged neatly with condiments. Food tasted great even though not freshly eaten from restaurant. Awesome service from ordering my takeout over the phone, to the young gentleman at window during pick up. He had a Great smile, nice attitude, which I felt welcomed and happily satisfied when I left the restaurant. Thanks for the great meal and service today RIVER SMITHS ?.
This place is a joke! overly priced! rude staff! I ordered a $15 combo box that had chicken and catfish bites with fries. The food had no flavor whatsoever the catfish was nothing but breading and the only thing that saved the chicken was the size, other than that it tastes like air and old grease ? do yourself a favor and just go over to dimba's on 34th and Quaker you will be way happier and not feel as though you've been ripped off
Sorry to say but LJS has better chicken and fish. Chicken was dark and overfried and Catfish and shrimp did not have any flavor whatsoever. Very disappointed and wish there was an option for 0 stars as this was on overpriced and very unsatisfying meal. The portion of coleslaw i got was very small as you can see. It was served in a dipping cup.....very bad experience.
20 minutes in drive through with no cars in front of me. Portions are much smaller than they used to be. Tasted good but too long to wait for such a small amount of food
Went this place craving a chicken fried chicken so bad! So I order 3 of their plates and so excited to eat from a 15 minute drive back home. And my whole order is completely wrong! ?. So I call and let them know my whole order is wrong so they want me to bring it all back 15 minutes to get there a then back home? I think not! So she offers to put me down for only one meal after I just spent 60 bucks there she wants to only comp me $14?! Never again will I waste my money there with people who don’t care about their customers
dark dry chicken. Fake mashed potatoes. They told me this was their only complaint on fake mashed potatoes. Didn't know pickles come with fried chicken with pickle juice on top of the boxes. Quality control none. Better chicken at Walmart and they have bad fried chicken. Manager said first complaint on mashed potatoes. Potatoes are 2 bucks a bag and can't have real when paying family price.
I took 3 people and told them it was good. I hope it wasn't a reflection on me because our fried fish was terrible. It was near closing and i think they gave us the old stuff that was fried hours ago. French fries were limp and cold. Won't be going back.
First time to eat here at this place. Food was awesome staff was friendly and helpful. And food came out pretty fast after ordering it. Very satisfied with this place and will definitely come back l!
