Lovely restaurant with some old school style Italian food. Everything was great and family was happy with their choices overall.
5 out of 5!!! The food is great! The service was good! The food comes out fast!! The chicken parm is to die for!! I don’t eat Spaghetti but I ate there’s!
Quick tripn to Lubbock and this place came up as a local favorite. Packed parking lot on a Thursday, so that was a good sign. Nice interior, menu has lots of choices, love the wine suggestions on the menu. Couples pasta sampler was good, not the best we've ever had, but great size and value for the price.
I went to the Orlandos on ave Q earlier (around 2:30). I was so disappointed the service was slow, many waitstaff walked quickly past us & no one filled our drinks, our food was barely warm, we didn’t get our bread until we were done with our food. I understand the shortage on waitstaff & we didn’t complain, however everyone should work as a team, I did not see that today.
Apparently a very well loved Lubbock restaurant. They have two locations and both were packed with people. The Indiana location has more space and our wait was minimal. We had stopped at the Avenue Q location first and were told and hour wait which we thought was extreme. Fortunately everything in Lubbock is a short drive so we left for the other location. There are lots of choices on the menu. We split the pasta sampler between 3 people and it was more than enough food. Everything tasted great, homey, and fresh. Unfortunately they were out of cannelloni, my favorite, but I didn’t drop a star for this one disappointment. We doubled up on lasagna instead. Minestrone soup was excellent also. We left very satisfied with the food and the attentive service. A return trip in the future is definite.
Popped in with my son after a long day of orientation at Tech. Jeremy took great care of us and, it being our first visit, offered a few terrific recommendations. We shared the Mafia Queso, good on chips but over the top slathered on garlic bread! Our salads were crisp and fresh and I loved the generous serving of blue cheese crumbles atop my blue cheese dressing. I had the chicken pasta with green chilies and my son, being a chicken parm fanatic, ordered his usual. Both were amazing! Will be back on our next trip to Lubbock with the rest of the family and we'll be requesting Jeremy again if he's there!
Consistently good food and good service at both locations. I'm more frequently visit the Indiana Street location. Plexiglass has been installed between the booths as a reaction to covid, so they are fully open without significant health risk. My only complaint is the shape of the salad bowl - it is too small to completely cut up the lettuce.
Spectacular Italian food locally owned and wonderful selection and service. Everything everybody had was delicious in with served quickly we did not have much of a wait and it was Father's Day.
Don't let my title fool you, I cannot say for certain whether it was Orlando's food or the mix of spaghetti and the tacos I ate earlier. But I would give Orlando's another chance. Now onto the review... Like with all my restaurant reviews, I want to establish my tastes. If you don't agree with what I like, you might not like my review. If we appear to have the same tastes in food, then I hope my review encourages a visit. Italian restaurants I like are Macaroni Grill, Olive Garden, Johnny Carinos (which is no longer around?), Joes Pizza (in Fort Worth) and Portofinos (Roswell). In Lubbock I usually eat at Cheddars, ChikFila or Chipotle. I'm not trying to be alliterative :) I wrote a long review for Arbor Inn and don't feel like doing that for Orlando's. I had the all you can eat spaghetti, salad, soup and bread. (Maybe it was eating the green chili potato soup that didn't sit well with the spaghetti). The flavors were good and the bread was a-plenty. The salad was good (I could use more tomatoes) and I had water. The spaghetti was a rich sauce and I only had one plate. The service was okay but I will give the waitress a pass. Orlando's seems like a go-to place for families as there were two 10+ parties next to me. Prices were reasonable and portions were good size. Would I recommend the place? Not sure. Will I return? Yes! This is one of those restaurants that you want to try again because the potential is there. And everyone deserves a second chance. Also, I'm not a big fan of the covid mandates so I'm ignoring those questions. I had covid, had family pass away from it but life is not always fair. I won't criticize those who are afraid or have different opinions, take care of you. But don't force fear on others. Enjoy life.
Orlando's has become our 'go to' restaurant in Lubbock. The food is consistently good, the service is great, and the wait is never long. Even though it was Texas Tech's Graduation, we ate here twice last weekend (once at each location) and had no issues being seated or served. In fact we were actually turned away from Triple J's Chophouse (fully booked) but Orlando's came through for us (party of 12!) at the last minute and provided a great meal. Believe me...we will be back!
