I wanted to like it. I really did. The vibe is good and super cute. The service was slow, the staff didn’t know the menu, and the food was bland.
the food was plain with no taste. Not authentic!
The food at Miguel's is just plain disappointment. The portions are way to small for the price point. I ordered the saddest nachos I have ever seen! It was about 8 chips with hardly any cheese or toppings on them. My wife ordered enchiladas and there were 2 very small about 3" long enchiladas along side were beans and rice that seemed to be from a can. It wasn't till we left from inside the restaurant to the patio were things got better, very nice atmosphere/decor, service got better we had 3 servers checking on us often. If I were to rate the food on a scale 1-5 it would be a 2. If I were to rate the patio it's a 5 it's put together well. To some it up it, the appearance is more important than the food by far. Thanks the J O D
It was such a beautiful, trendy, indoor/outdoor spot. Visited during the day but would love to go back and enjoy it at night. The food hit the spot and the drinks were amazing. Staff was awesome too. So nice ,polite, and on top of things.
-13/10. I ordered the skirt steak nachos for $10.99 and i got a SINGULAR layer of chips with steak sprinkled on top. Asked for no sour cream and still got it. What if I was allergic? Ordered a strawberry daiquiri and literally only tasted alcohol. They employ college “athletes” who have no morals and didn’t even do anything the whole time I was there. And to top everything off… they wouldn’t let me take my water cup out because THEY put it in the same cup that alcohol goes in. I never really liked college restaurants but this place is worse than your typical college restaurant. Torchy’s is the same price but you get WAYYYY more for your money. I wish google would let you put negative stars.
Great spot for breakfast! Cheap drinks, yummie tacos!Add to my original review. I don’t know how many of y’all pa attention to the small details. But most restaurants use nasty Lubbock tap water for ice waters. NOT MIGUELS! I don’t know where they get their water from but it isn’t tap, and it tastes amazing!
Nachos consisted of 9 chips and enough meat to feed a small ant hill. If you are a full grown adult or even child, look elsewhere. Profit margins have to be at least 90% considering quantity and quality.
If you've never been here, go with someone who's been or is familiar bc I was LOST!! You can eat inside or outside. There's a great patio area with swings!! That's where we chose to sit. It's hard to say who works there and who doesn't bc the patio had one person running around but people sitting at the picnic tables nearest the bar outside would also randomly get up and ask if we were doing OK, too? Very strange and unorganized. In addition, we kept getting forgotten. The waitress would go loads of time without coming back to us so we did a lot of self service. In addition, super confusing as to whether or not you're supposed to get up and retrieve your food inside (which is what we did) or if it was brought to the table because, again, inconsistent service & zero explanation. We just had our order taken, were given and a # and left to fend for ourselves lol. The atmosphere was very fun, beautifully decorated. The interior has paintings from the beautiful Kelly J Reyna (a local artist...look her up - Grey Edges Studio). Now for the food - nothing to really get excited about in my humble opinion. Especially for the price. ? I had the flautas. They were perfectly crispy and came with a delicious spicy ranch. The chicken had ZERO flavor. Costed about $7 for 5. We also ordered the chips & cilantro lime dip. Tasted lioe straight earth. I kid you not, there was zero flavor. No, I'm not one of those people who thinks cilantro tastes like soap but soap had more flavor than this dip and had a hefty price tag for dip. ? ...the drinks left me wanting. Not packed with flavor but good balance of flavor to alcohol ratio. They did offer tajin rims so there's that for you tajin lovers. We tried the mangorita, the blueberry Chilton (tasted like flat sprite..oops), and the strawberry daiquiri which was my fav! All in all, if you want somewhere chill to hang and grab, l definitely try it. If you're looking for amazing food and flavor, go elsewhere ?Sorry not sorry. I am all about food, flavor, SERVICE and a great experience. Many laughs were had & we made great memories here.
Great outdoor atmosphere! Food was surprisingly good! Rice and beans need more authenticity! Very flavorful dishes! We definitely recommend! Please understand the theme of the restaurant and you’ll definitely relate!
We’ve tried most of the bar staffs cocktails and shots, service, all around experience and no one does it like Mark does. He makes the atmosphere comfortable and explains everything so well. We didn’t even know there was an indoors to the establishment until Mark told us we could also check out inside if we wanted. His drinks and shots are by far the best. We were about to leave when we saw Mark bartending inside and stopped to have one more drink and ended up staying longer because the service was so good. He explained the menu and told us his favorite items which we tried and all loved. Definitely made the experience for us the few times we went! We will be back to see Mark, have a few of his drinks and enjoy some great food sooner than later!
