Oh obar. They have the best bartenders and delicious food. I always end up here when I'm in Lubbock. I love studying here too because what other places are open until 2 am where I can study? Be sure to get a Chilton with Ms Rachel she makes the best ones I've ever had.
Came for lunch today... haven't been to the Oyster Bar in 20+ years...don't serve sweet tea...can't serve oysters because "she's the only one working and it takes too long to shuck".. No pork for the Cuban..wow ...Bartender Melissa talking badly about customers to other customers. Calling waitresses"rachet"..Took literally an hour to get a burger for lunch.Disappointing..won't be back.
The service is so bad. It took an hour and a half for them to bring the food and they do not refill your drinks unless you walk up to the bar.
Went in last night and maybe a few ppl in the front and like a 2 or 3 in the back, the bartender lady was so rude not inviting or welcoming at all and had a very rude response to us asking if the patio was open. My money is green and spends the same as anyone elses does. I went for a beer and oysters that they did not have. mentioned it to the front bartender, that the lady acted as if she didnt want us there and he shrug his shoulders like either hes use to it or doesnt care. so disappointed!
I always feel comfortable, welcome, and at home as soon as I walk in the door. Rachel handles the bar while providing personalized service. I always leave smiling when she's working.
I come here once a week at least. Rachel is the best bartender I’ve met so far. Very good atmosphere too
Lone Star Oyster Bar has been in Lubbock for many years and is a favorite for those who enjoy a true dive bar. The bar can definitely use some updating, but it does carry its own flare regarding aesthetics. The food is very tasty which is surprising and not expected from the looks of this location. The service is super slow.
Went in at 5:00 on a Saturday for half-price oysters, but they were sold out. Called the next week on Wednesday, when they again have half-price oysters, but they didn't have any and said they wouldn't have any half-price oysters until Saturday. So I went in that Saturday at 3 p.m. and they were sold out again!!! They should order more!!! Also the service is not very accommodating. Some waitstaff act like they couldn't be bothered!
They need help at the bar but the service is good. But 2 gius cant help 300 customers fast
