While visiting my dad in my hometown of Lubbock Texas he suggested Jimmy's Egg.. Had to wait just a couple of minutes for a table which is to be expected on a Saturday. Very friendly service and the food was excellent. I will go there again next time I'm in the area.
This dining experience was horrible. They were Not sanitizing tables between seatings. [Just dusting crumbs off with a napkin]They were very short staffed but kept over-seating. Our group of 5 had to send back 2 plates due to a cold meal and overcooked inedible items. When the server returned with those 2 plates, she brought a completely different meal and the other plate was now missing a chicken tender but accompanied by a burnt waffle.A 3rd diner in our group didn't get their missing side dish until everyone was already done eating. We had to wave a server down for drink refills. The drink refills were forgotten twice & then brought a soda instead of water. The listening / attention skills just weren't there. The waitstaff was just overwhelmed. It's a management issue. If there is not enough staff to serve / bus tables, they should not be seated. A sign on the door advising of limited seating would've helped so patrons could make a decision to go elsewhere had they known the wait to place even a drink a request would be over 30 minutes. When we voiced this to the waitress, she made no attempt to notify the manager or remove items of inedible quality. She even noted that we didn't finish our food.
Sorry for the long winded post but this place really is an unsung hero in the 806 and deserves a shout out and I'll be honest but fair to their competition in the process. Cracker barrel USED to be our place because the portions were decent and the sunrise sampler WAS my jam. Being short staffed hit everyone and they suffered like all sitdown establishments. HOWEVER, I'm not exactly sure what Jimmy's Egg on Quaker ave./across from HEB doing but they might be an anomaly or just hiring the wait-staff equivalency of a Navy Seals team or maybe we just got lucky but at any rate with that said; On THREE separate occasions we were served by THREE different servers and each time were given THREE isolated, stellar experiences. If you've ever worked in the food industry then you'd know/appreciate that that's hard to accomplish. All three souls were different personalities (of course) but made us feel welcomed in their own way. BRAVO, Jimmy's Egg in this particular location. Give your staff a raise, especially in these trying times. They absolutely ? deserve it.
Tasty spinach omelette with well toasted rye bread kitty corner from the South Quaker Walmart in South Lubbock in a clean, pleasant atmosphere. That spiky hair waiter is a fun, high energy, competent, and likable personality!
Atmosphere was wonderful, servers were very friendly and courteous. Enjoyed the food it was delicious, our first time eating at a Jimmy's egg.
Busy, but we were seated quickly. Servers were very friendly. Good attitude. Good food & reasonable prices.
This place is horrible. The wait time for food was 40 minutes which is ridiculous. The eggs was nasty the bacon looked like it was burnt. And I know some one that used to work there who told me after I ate there that hardly any of them have their safe serve certifications.
Very nice staff, clean area and great food.I got the Chorizo Skillet with a short stack of pancakes. I have no complaints about the food. It was fresh, warm and filling. High recommend!
Very disappointed. Probably would have been a better experience but our waiter declared that he was getting over Covid and was still having breathing issues but he has the antibodies so he is all good. He was not wearing a mask. He doesn't need to be waiting tables with no mask and then informing everyone he is serving that he is getting over Covid. If we weren't with some out of town guests my husband and I would have left. This was our first and last time for sure. We have been wanting to try it but not what we expected. The food was not hot when it came out and the waiter forgot a bunch of food that was ordered and didn't even realize it. The portion size was small too.
Breakfast and service was excellent. Sierra was our waitress and did an excellent job. Restaurants need more people like her. No complaints. Will keep coming.
