Food was stomped down delicious!! I’ve had a peach cobbler itch for the past few months. I ordered peach cobbler at several restaurants and it only made the itch worse but this peach cobbler hit the SPOT!!! Perfect! I wish I ordered more but after so many not so good I didn’t want to take a chance. These people know what they are doing! If you like southern bbq and desserts check them out. Sorry, the only pics I have is unflattering clean rib bones and empty plates and bowls. Maybe next time
Don't believe the hype. This place is just a sad joke compared to others in the area. Absolutely dry, crumbly garbage with zero fat content in the "moist" brisket. Their fix for the dryness is to use the same crumbly brisket, add some water to it and steam it in a pan. Sorry J&M but you fail miserably at BBQ. Will NOT be back. Trust me when I say...go to Rudy's.
Change prices all the time one day my order for a bake potato was 9.00. The next day same order, they tried to charge me 22.00, to add two pieces of ribs on a bake potato. Never will I ever go back it is why it's so hard to support black businesses.
First time going to this establishment. Service was excellent. Food was excellent. Ordered a one meat combo -- brisket with two sides - mac-n-cheese and fries. Numerous BBQ places have good meat and marginal sides (or vice versa). It's rare when both the BBQ and the sides are top notch. This place makes great meat and sides. Brisket was moist and lean. Flavor was spot on. Had spicy BBQ sauce. It was very good. In today's world of escalating prices, their prices were very reasonable. A good value and good product. Would definitely recommend.
Fantastic! So good! Idk how I haven't been in this location before, but it is amazing!I got Pork Ribs (thicc boys lol), Jalapeno Sausage, baked beans, corn & "spicy" sauce.That sauce!? I need more of that in my life!Service was outstanding also!!Btw the ribs are covering the Jalapeno Sausage!
Got the chopped brisket sandwich and it was delicious. Great flavor and some good chunks of beef in it to give it good bite. I got the "spicy" BBQ sauce with it and it was really good, a little sweet with some kick at the end. Will def go back, when I'm in Lubbock again and work my way through more of the menu. Staff was very friendly. Thanks!
I have ordered carry out several times and the food was delicious. It is a local business as opposed to a chain, and I appreciate that and am happy to support this local business. I have tried the other location, but prefer the atmosphere and service at the location on 34th!! The price of their food is a bonus. It’s very economical and yummy!!!! ?
Visiting from central TX I was looking for a good example of Lubbock que. J&M was definitely a hit for me. The brisket was cooked just right and just the right amount of fat. The sauce was good but not needed, I just wish it was a little spicier, the "spicy" option did not do much for my hill country pallette. Worth a trip if you're visiting!
Great prices, but you get what you pay for. I got ribs and brisket, and they were both incredibly dry and lacking in flavor. The ribs were actually tough. I'm willing to consider that I went at dinnertime, and maybe by the end of the day, the meats have been kept warm too long, but it was a pretty big disappointment.Service was good and friendly, and dessert was good - get the cobbler, and ask for half cherry, half peach!The other thing that stood out was that they don't have music. It felt like we were there after hours or something, and it was hard to not hear every conversation going on around us. Probably won't be back.
My co-worker and I decided on running down to the 34th location and grabbing our office loaded baked potatoes for lunch today, upon arriving, there was a gentleman who left because they did not have the whole menu ready. We order our food and while standing there we watched a cockroach climb across the counters && chicken sitting on a pan ON TOP OF A TRASH CAN When I let the lady who works the cashier spot know she just blew up me off and continued to package our food where the cockroaches were!!! We refused the food and left the store. SO DISGUSTING!!!! When I called the slide store the woman who is the manager was so polite offered us a discount on a meal at her store and was every apologetic on their behalf. Extremely disappointed!!!
