Love the staff but tonight I said I did not care for the rubbery shrimp in a very lady like manner..solo The manager or so called very partially owner Nick came out and was threatening in his extremely rude behavior..he said he took a picture of my food before it came out..how ca you take a picture of rubbery tough shrimp..who does that and is very threatening in a manner that I have never witnessed in my life ..I came there to relax and have always paid my bills There was one time I received fried shrimp and the staff said I would probably not care for it because they did not..I have never witnessed a man treating a lady in such disrespect..then I found out that many other restaurant owners say he has that reputation and people that have worked for him have quit..and will eventually quit I am an upstanding citizen of Lubbock Shame on a man treating a lady with such threatening disrespect I agree with all of the negativity people have reported..as a manager if you claim the food is bad they should not threaten you to pay the bill but discuss how they can make it differently Shame on his behavior and I still love the staff I truly feel sorry for them as I fear they may be threatened as well as the most upstanding people In Lubbock feel the same
First time to eat there. Met my son for Father's Day late lunch! Great service, and the food is great as well. They have large portions!
This was our (husband, son, and me) first time here and it was very lovely. The food came out hot and fresh. Seasoned very well. The staff was attentive and friendly. Our waitress was the best. Since it wasn't too busy she took the time to talk to us and even made some suggestions about the drinks. She made us feel like friends instead of just more customers. The vibe wad real laid back and chill. Will definitely be going back for more.
Was very disappointed .... I had the catfish it was not good at all.... It just fell apart into a goo... maybe I came at a bad time?
Good service and food, my hush puppy's were a little over done and ran out of drink and waitress didn't come around until I was finished. However I will be going back.
I have not eaten here in a while and was excited to make it to Lubbock in time to eat at what once was one of my favorite restaurants. The wait inside the restaurant was a reasonable 45 minutes, we opted to sit outside. The hostess/ waitress who led us outside, waited on three tables that came in after we did. I understand things happen but i really find this totally inexcuseable for a restaurant that has been open as long as this one. So we left.
Had the crawfish po'boy for lunch. Wowzer do they stuff that po'boy with fried crawfish. It was fantastic! We had the fried cheese curds as a starter, because they were out of the egg rolls. I was even pleasantly surprised by their sweet tea. It was a perfect lunch.
I really really really wanted to love this place, I was so excited to go and we drove all the way from New Mexico to eat here. Unfortunately the food was bland, our drinks were warm, and it was really expensive.For two plates, an appetizer, and two alcoholic drinks it was $83. I wouldn't mind paying that much if the food was good but the gator was not seasoned at all and tasted like fry grease (literally just flour and pepper for the batter) and our drinks were room temp, we had to wait for them to cool down before we could drink them. Really no part of the meal was great, the best part was the fries and even those were just your standard restaurant fries.This place has a lot of charm and I have no doubt it could be a total gem with just a bit of work. I hope they can revise their recipes a bit and really put this place on the map.
I had this place saved in my “want to go” section of google maps for a long time and was really excited to go. I had high hopes. All I can say is Meh. The food was meh. Very expensive for what it is. Definitely don’t order the oysters they were far from fresh. In fact, they were awful. The fried gator was pretty good, the rest of the food was just meh. I’m disappointed because I was so excited to try this place and I ordered a lot, which was a mistake. The environment is also meh. Probably won’t be returning
Food was horrible. There medium rare "standard" is well done. The waitress was cute and amazing but the chef is trash
